What then is to be done? Yet another dialogue between "moderate" Arabs and "progressive" Israelis? An umpteenth "peace plan" to be ignored? A solemn declaration from the European Union?

Your tax dollars and military at work resupplying Israel with 168 shipping containers full of ammunition
Report: US military re-supplying Israel with ammunition through Greece
Thursday January 08, 2009 22:04 by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC News
As the Israeli occupation terrorist forces continue to pound the crowded, impoverished and imprisoned population of the Gaza Strip with the full force of its military might, Israel's strongest ally, the United States, announced plans to ship large amounts of ammunition to the Israeli forces – as it did during Israel's 2006 invasion of Lebanon, when the Israelis ran out of (internationally-banned) cluster bombs, and the US shipped them tens of thousands more. The US Military Sealift Command on Dec. 31st published a solicitation for bids from shipping companies to ship two boats, each containing 168 TEU's (twenty-foot equivalent container units) of ammunition, from Greece to Israel.

WASHINGTON, Jan 8 (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate voiced strong support on Thursday for Israel's battle against Hamas militants in Gaza, while urging a ceasefire that would prevent Hamas from launching any more rockets into Israel.
The chamber agreed on a voice vote to the non-binding resolution co-sponsored by Democratic and Republican party leaders in the chamber.

Straight from the Ass's Mouth: Israeli Hasbara (Talking Points) Memo
1.
The achievement: During the first week of Operation Cast Lead the Hamas terror organization suffered a heavy blow – dozens of its commanders and hundreds of terrorists were killed, ammunition stores were destroyed and its arms production capabilities and tunnel smuggling infrastructure were damaged. Hamas’s ability to govern was also impaired. Its senior leaders completely abandoned the population and are concerned only in saving their own skins. (Mohammed Bassiouni, Chairman of the Egyptian parliament’s foreign relations committee asked, “Where is the Hamas leadership? They are all hiding in underground bunkers while Gaza is being attacked.”)

The lie of Israeli victimhood revealed
The pro-Zionist Western press are playing down Israel’s response to yesterdays Katyusha attack launched from south Lebanon against Israel saying that the “relatively low-key response… indicates that Israel has no desire to escalate the situation”. The reality is that ‘Israel has no desire to be seen to escalate the situation’ preferring, as usual, to manipulate the propaganda in such a way as to make it seem as though Israel was attacked without provocation. Indeed, the article in the UKs right-wing and staunchly pro-Zionist ‘Daily Telegraph’ infers that the attack was unexpected and without provocation. However, the article ignores entirely the overflights by the Israeli Air Force (IAF) into Lebanese airspace prior to the Katyusha launchings. Instead the Daily Telegraph refers only to the IAF overflights made after the attacks thus reinforcing the notion that Israel was attacked without provocation. On this occasion the ‘Daily Telegraph’ has been caught out indulging in a deliberate deceit.

The unspoken war of terror on the Israelis
Israel’s purpose is to be the saviour of the Jews. It has attracted the support of wealthy and powerful Jews everywhere. And we all currently bear witness to the brutality waged on the Palestinians.
But there is also a wider war going on: To maintain the Jewish nation, and that is something larger than the Israeli state. Jews in the Diaspora help Israel, and Israelis return the help for the Jews outside of Israel.
There is such a density of power that it requires agents, fodder and brains. A machine. Every jew with an ability must buckle under. One does not do their service and retire, this is a life long quest. Because humans are humans, there are those that desist. But they learn the terror of pain dished out to those refusing to be a cog.
Loved ones are the first victims, but there are no limits. An Israeli understands very well. Help the mob and then take some crumbs. And so we have a manifestation of, a generation of blood lust. The fear of refusal is taught ruthlessly. And like everywhere else, the true power lies hidden.

The brutal force of Israel's "total war" on Gaza
B’Tselem, the Israeli group that monitors human rights in the occupied territory, spoke to 19-year-old Meysa a-Samuni, a young woman with an infant daughter, who witnessed the massacre of much of her family in the Zeitun neighborhood south of Gaza City. They were killed when Israeli troops shelled a house which they and others had been ordered to enter.
She told B’Tselem: “On Sunday [4 January], around 9 a.m., soldiers came to the house of my father-in-law, Rashed a-Samuni, which is located next to a concrete engineering company. We were 14 people in the house, all of us from a-Samuni family: me, my husband, Tawfiq, 21, our infant, Jumana, nine months old, my father-in-law, Rashed, 41, my mother-in-law, Rabab, 38, and my husband’s brothers, Musa, 19, Walid, 17, Halmi, 14, Zeineb, 12, Muhammad, 11, Shaban, 9, Issa, 7, Islam, 12, Israa, 2.
“The soldiers came to the house on foot and knocked on the door. We opened and then, threatening us with weapons, they forced us to leave the house. They had bulletproof vests on and had automatic weapons. Their faces were painted black. We left the house. Walid ran from another door of the house, but the soldiers caught him.
There oughta be a law....wait! There is!! Against boycotting Israeli goods!!!
Bureau of Industry and Security, US Department of Commerce
The Bureau is charged with administering and enforcing the Antiboycott Laws under the Export Administration Act. Those laws discourage, and in some circumstances, prohibit U.S. companies from furthering or supporting the boycott of Israel sponsored by the Arab League, and certain Moslem countries, including complying with certain requests for information designed to verify compliance with the boycott. Compliance with such requests may be prohibited by the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and may be reportable to the Bureau.
Boycott Alert
U.S. companies continue to report receiving requests to engage in activities that further or support the boycott of Israel. U.S. companies may receive similar requests in the future. If you have questions, please call (202) 482-2381 and ask for the Duty Officer or you may contact us by email.

Israel's UNFORGIVABLE Crimes
(CNN) -- The International Committee of the Red Cross called on Israel to allow it immediate access to Gaza, saying a trip into Gaza City revealed weak children laying with their dead mothers and other "shocking" scenes.
Red Cross workers and four ambulances from the Palestine Red Crescent Society managed to enter the Zaytun neighborhood of Gaza City on Wednesday, according to a written release. The crew found four children, too weak to stand, next to their dead mothers in a house containing 12 corpses, the statement says.
Other houses revealed more wounded and three more corpses, the release said. It said Israeli soldiers posted near the houses ordered the rescue team to leave the area -- an order the team refused.
