Les Vis: The Holocaust Blackmail Game-Boy

The world is a lie because all of the transitory phenomena in the realm of the senses are actually based on things you can’t see. This is scientific fact. Most of what you hear is a lie because it is based on perceptions of reality which are based on things out side of the parameters of those making the statement. Sometimes it’s intentional and sometimes it’s just ignorance. However, nearly every lie, whether based on malicious intent or ignorant assumption is motive driven; what we want to believe, what we want you to believe are driven toward some idea of profit or control and you can catalog the minutiae right down to the mites on your skin but you still won’t know the truth of the matter.

Urban Survival: Bounce at 8500, Dow to 5800 possible

Isn't it truth? Do not the financial people always tell us rubes to stay in for the long haul? Of course. They always want the suckers staying in the game to hold the bag while all the big boys get out in time. - Ed.

Robin's expectations are outlined this way:

"The Chart above is a long term chart that shows that my target for 7400 may be too high. If we get a maximum retracement of 68% then the 5800 range is quite possible. I am confident that one of the targets will be met. The time frame is the most difficult to determine. As always there will be sharp counter trend rallies along the way but keep your eye on the final larger degree target which is much lower than we are today. I have said for several years the idea of buy and hold will cause the greatest pain and loss of confidence in the advisement business that this industry has ever seen once we enter the larger degree correction corresponding to the 1929-1934 decline. We are at that timeframe and many people who rely on their saving in the markets to retire will not be able to retire due to the lack of discipline in the training of advisors toward capital preservation. I believe the next two or three years will prove me right. I hope I am wrong but doubt it. God help us all. As always questions and comments are welcome." rlandry@allegiance.tv

America Under Siege

The American public, composed of both citizens and consumers, is under attack on all fronts. This is being done by government directly, indirectly, and across the board in every aspect of our lives. What continues to go unnoticed is that the people of this country have the constitutional and right to be represented within this "government" that has become the blood-enemy of everyone that lives here. What the cabal has failed to credit is that
"Taxation without Representation is Tyranny"!
The methods being used by the owners, against the people, include secrecy, intimidation, blatant lies and their misrepresentations about everything that comes from the government concerning everything they say they are doing to correct any of the myriad failures that have brought this formerly successful nation to its metaphorical knees!

Source lays out scenario of what market meltdown will look like

The market will most likely have a melt down before it closes. Today does not qualify as a melt down even though many people may think that. In my opinion the market needs to hit the "circuit breakers" (limits) first. The circuit breakers according to the exchange are as follows:

Level 1 halt A 1,100 point drop in the DJIA before 2 pm will halt trading for one hour; for 30 minutes if between 2 pm and 2:30 pm; and have no effect if at 2:00 pm or later unless there is a level 2 halt.

Level 2 halt A 2,200 point drop in the DJIA before 1:00 pm will halt trading for two hours; for one hour if between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm; and for the remainder of the day if at 2:00 pm or later.

Level 3 halt A 3,350 point drop will halt trading for the remainder of the day regardless of when the decline occurs.

Some additional points regarding these halts need to be made.

NSA agents admit spying on Americans' private calls

The Bush administration has repeatedly defended its warrantless surveillance of Americans as being directed only against "people with known links to al Qaeda and related terrorist organizations."

Now two intercept operators who worked for the National Security Agency at Fort Gordon in Georgia have come forward to tell ABC News that isn't true.

David Murfee Faulk described to ABC's Brian Ross how he had listened to "personal phone calls of American officers, mostly in the Green Zone [in Baghdad], calling home to the United States, talking to their spouses and sometimes their girlfriends."

Time is up Congress - And America

This is not good.

But the worst news is not in the stock market. It is in fact in some of the other indicators in the market which were indicating potential capital flight, along with still-extreme levels of stress.

I must caution everyone - if you are not prepared for six months to two years of unemployment, you need to be. If you are dependent on credit to survive (that is, if you couldn't make it without your credit cards) you need to fix that now.

Like today now.

Several times I have said "raise cash, get out of debt, be prepared."

I must reiterate this advice and emphasize it, as we may see a bond market dislocation and concurrent stock market crash at any time, without warning. It could be as early as today, in fact.

US Veteral reveals atomic bombs

Despite a just-released U.S. national intelligence consensus that Iran is not developing nuclear weapons, apocalyptic fundamentalists George Bush and Dick Cheney remain intent on ordering an all-out attack against one of the world’s oldest (and best armed) civilizations. As governments and citizenry protest this folly, an overriding question torments many minds: Will the architects of more than one-million civilian corpses in Iraq choose to go “go nuclear” against Iran?

HCR 2034: If martial law, Arizona will secede

Marc Chung sends in a very interesting tidbit of information covering Arizona bill HCR 2034: ”
abolish federal government; state sovereignty”. More specifically the bill covers the situation in which the US government declares marshal law then Arizona will join with 34 or more (majority) of states and declare their own independence from the Union… interesting (especially with election time around the corner and conspiracies about that Bush/Cheney empire would do something in order to declare marshal law to avoid the election):

Maryland Police put activists' names on terror lists - surveillance reach revealed

By Lisa Rein Washington Post Staff Writer Wednesday, October 8, 2008; A01

The Maryland State Police classified 53 nonviolent activists as terrorists and entered their names and personal information into state and federal databases that track terrorism suspects, the state police chief acknowledged yesterday.

Police Superintendent Terrence B. Sheridan revealed at a legislative hearing that the surveillance operation, which targeted opponents of the death penalty and the Iraq war, was far more extensive than was known when its existence was disclosed in July.

The department started sending letters of notification Saturday to the activists, inviting them to review their files before they are purged from the databases, Sheridan said.

"The names don't belong in there," he told the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee. "It's as simple as that."

Confident that a spat with Europe prompted by Russia's invasion of Georgia in August was over, Mr Medvedev arrived in the French spa town of Evian determined to woo his fellow leaders into creating an anti-US front.

Gone was the kind of war time rhetoric that saw Mr Medvedev lash out at the West and characterise his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Saakashvili as a "lunatic". Instead Mr Medvedev spoke of a Russia that was "absolutely not interested in confrontation".

Who owns the Fed?

"Some people think that the Federal Reserve Banks are United States Government institutions. They are private monopolies which prey upon the people of these United States for the benefit of themselves and their foreign customers; foreign and domestic speculators and swindlers; and rich and predatory money lenders."

– The Honorable Louis McFadden, Chairman of the House Banking and Currency Committee in the 1930s

The Federal Reserve (or Fed) has assumed sweeping new powers in the last year. In an unprecedented move in March 2008, the New York Fed advanced the funds for JPMorgan Chase Bank to buy investment bank Bear Stearns for pennies on the dollar. The deal was particularly controversial because Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan, sits on the board of the New York Fed and participated in the secret weekend negotiations.1 In September 2008, the Federal Reserve did something even more unprecedented, when it bought the world’s largest insurance company. The Fed announced on September 16 that it was giving an $85 billion loan to American International Group (AIG) for a nearly 80% stake in the mega-insurer. The Associated Press called it a "government takeover," but this was no ordinary nationalization. Unlike the U.S. Treasury, which took over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac the week before, the Fed is not a government-owned agency. Also unprecedented was the way the deal was funded. The Associated Press reported:

The Fed: History of Lies, Thievery and Deceit

by Dr. Ken Matto

Former Congressional Candidate, 6th District N.J.

"I place economy among the first and most important virtues, and public debt as the greatest of dangers. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt."

-Thomas Jefferson

Did You Ever Wonder Why The National Debt Keeps Going Up and Up?

One of the most ungodly and fraudulent institutions ever perpetrated on the American people and the world, is the Federal Reserve System which through deceit became the central bank of the United States in 1913. The idea came about on a meeting in Jekyl Island off the coast of Georgia in 1910. The bankers in this country, especially J.P. Morgan, created a currency panic in 1907 in order to get the American people to accept the idea of a central bank.

Excerpt:

At it's heart, the economic crisis unfolding now and only in its opening act will be about what I'd have to call 'thingness & property'. Like Pappy used to remember me, "Possession is 9/10ths of the law..." True that. Get on the side with the most possessions and 'horsepower' and there's the side that will likely write history.

Except, of course, for men of conscience who would take a little different path, which gets us to look at Cook County Illinois sheriff Thom Dart who says he won't enforce all evictions in his jurisdiction.

What we're seeing bubble out of Illinois is likely to become a nationwide phenomena in no time at all. Especially since this year threatens to be perhaps the worst Christmas since World War II; see "Owe, owe, owe, More debt for the Poor".

Evidence that the Cook County stance will be meaningful in the long term comes from the newspapers that are picking up their own 'local angle' to it. "Evictions must go on, say Fox Valley sheriffs", just as an example.

Stirling: The Quickening - Economic Crisis

I have been using the term, the Quickening, to describe the recent series of political, economic, and military events and trends. Events have quicken, or increased in speed, with the trend line most negative in the last month, and this has been global in nature.

I believe that the time period from 9/11/01 (the false flag attack on America) to 9/11/08 was the Biblical Seven Year Tribulation. I think that we have so had our views of End Time events and theology shaped by Hollywood and the main stream media that most of us are expecting something unreal and hence many people cannot see the reality of events unfolding before their very eyes.

Greenwald: How to go on Fox News

For the third debate in a row, actual polling data last night (as well as uncommitted focus groups) revealed that most Americans believe that the Democratic candidate (Obama/Biden) won decisively. In stark contrast, this is what the poll of Fox News viewers found:

In the real world among Americans, Obama won the debate by 15-30 points, but in Fox News World, McCain won the debate by 86-12%. That’s what Fox News is and who their viewers are: a right-wing propaganda outlet with an almost entirely unpersuadable viewership. For that reason, I don’t understand why the Obama campaign helps legitimize them as a real news network by appearing on Fox programs. But the Obama campaign obviously disagrees and regularly does so.

AIG-CIA Scam - the real reason the govt needs to 'own' certain businesses

As another analyst has pointed out, the $85 billion bridging loan (offset by funding from the Reserve Bank of Australia) extended by the US authorities to AIG, gives the Government an 80% share in AIG, 'a move that will prevent external players from peering into AIG's myriad intelligence operations on behalf of the CIA' (3).

WE 'PEER INTO AIG'S MYRIAD INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS ON BEHALF OF THE CIA':

This entity was chaired, until his enforced resignation, by Maurice 'Hank' Greenberg, a close friend of Dr Henry Kissinger. AIG's operations in Asia are reported by the same source (3) as having pre-dated the CIA and its predecessor, the wartime Office of Strategic Services (OSS). AIG's brand new building in Hong Kong had been intended as a key outpost for CIA operatives assigned to China.

Umm...let's see here, requirements to work at upper levels of US Treasury Dept... employment history at Goldman Sachs? Check!....Psychopathic stare? Check! He's perfect!!

Dr. Robert Hare wrote in his book Without Conscience, that psychopaths often make very intense eye contact, or have unusually piercing eyes. Other researchers have also mentioned the "reptilian gaze" of the psychopath, resembling that of a predator about to consume his or her prey. Victims of the psychopath also often refer to the "laser beam" stare.

From the US Treasury Department's website: http://www.treas.gov/

Neel Kashkari was designated as the Interim Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Stability on October 6, 2008. In this capacity, Mr. Kashkari oversees the Office of Financial Stability including the Troubled Asset Relief Program.

Mr. Kashkari also continues to hold the position of Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for International Economics and Development, but his International Affairs responsibilities are delegated to Assistant Secretary for International Affairs Clay Lowery while Mr. Kashkari serves as Interim Assistant Secretary for Financial Stability.

Mr. Kashkari joined the Treasury Department in July 2006 as Senior Advisor to U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr. In that role, he was responsible for developing the President’s Twenty in Ten energy security plan, enhancing Treasury’s engagement with India, particularly in the area of infrastructure development, and developing and executing the Department’s response to the housing crisis, including the formation of the HOPE NOW Alliance, the development of the subprime fast-track loan modification plan, and Treasury’s initiative to kick-start a covered bond market in the United States.

Prior to joining the Treasury Department, Mr. Kashkari was a Vice President at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in San Francisco, where he led Goldman's IT Security Investment Banking practice, advising public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions and financial transactions. Prior to his career in finance, Mr. Kashkari was a R&D Principal Investigator at TRW in Redondo Beach, California where he developed technology for NASA space science missions such as the James Webb Space Telescope.

Inflationary pressures have started to moderate in a number of countries, partly reflecting a marked decline in energy and other commodity prices. Inflation expectations are diminishing and remain anchored to price stability. The recent intensification of the financial crisis has augmented the downside risks to growth and thus has diminished further the upside risks to price stability.

Wayne Madsen: Bush putting final touches on Martial Law plans

October 8-10, 2008 -- FEMA sources confirm coming martial law

WMR has learned from knowledgeable Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) sources that the Bush administration is putting the final touches on a plan that would see martial law declared in the United States with various scenarios anticipated as triggers. The triggers include a continuing economic collapse with massive social unrest, bank closures resulting in violence against financial institutions, and another fraudulent presidential election that would result in rioting in major cities and campuses around the country.

In addition, Army Corps of Engineer sources report that the assignment of the 3rd Infantry Divisionʼs 1st Brigade Combat Team (BCT) to the Northern Command's U.S. Army North is to augment FEMA and federal law enforcement in the imposition of traffic controls, crowd control, curfews, enhanced border and port security, and neighborhood patrols in the event a national emergency being declared. The BCT was assigned to duties in Iraq before being assigned to the Northern Command.

On April 3, 2008, WMR reported on a highly-classified document regarding the martial law scenario: WMR has learned from knowledgeable sources within the US financial community that an alarming confidential and limited distribution document is circulating among senior members of Congress and their senior staff members that is warning of a bleak future for the United States if it does not quickly get its financial house in order. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is among those who have reportedly read the document. The document is being called the "C & R" document because it reportedly states that if the United States defaults on loans and debt underwriting from China, Japan, and Russia, all of which are propping up the United States government financially, and the United States unilaterally cancels the debts, America can expect a war that will have disastrous results for the United States and the world. "Conflict" is the "C word" in the document. The other scenario is that the federal government will be forced to drastically raise taxes in order to pay off debts to foreign countries to the point that the American people will react with a popular revolution against the government. "Revolution" is the document's "R word.

From 2006: NWO stealing Americans blind with illegal overseas giga-fund estimated at $55 to $300 trillion

I think this is the thing that you are really, really, really not supposed to know about. Ever. I have just recently tripped over it myself, and I think everybody should look at this and start connecting dots to the best of your ability. When you see or hear the name Leo Wanta, pay attention. Yes, this is NWO stuff. But what is the NWO but a group of people in power who can be counted on to "mismanage" us into poverty while miraculously amassing vast, mind-boggling sums of wealth for themselves. It's never an accident when bad things happen to the peasants and the rich consolidate. It's Always Accidentally On Purpose. And this is why I believe they touched the third rail by having their financial messes exploding right before the election, instead of right after, affecting us down the line and causing us to look up just as they need us to be most preoccupied with bread and circuses. - Ed.

By Greg Szymanski – Arctic Beacon June 23, 2006

While the country is preoccupied with terrorism, the war in Iraq and 9/11, thugs controlling the takeover of America are stealing citizens blind to the tune of $55 to $300 trillion dollars, according to an undercover financial report by the London-based International Currency Review.

The up-to-date report just released confirms that $27.5 trillion first raised from 1989-1992 to finance the imposition of the New World Order has now covertly blossomed into much, much more as Americans have been conveniently "made to look left when they should be looking right."

But important stories like this usually get buried, ignored and overlooked in favor of rebellion in the streets and cockeyed symposiums for truth. Sadly, it's usually the emotional gut wrenching extravaganzas rushing thousands to the streets "crying foul" that gain attention by the masses.

In fact, it is the intelligent crooks behind the scenes, including the entire U.S. Congress and Executive, who are quite content with rebellion, rioting in the streets and 9/11 conferences just as long as the real heat of activism stays away from the important issue -money.

But while Americans remain hoodwinked, some investigators are toiling away tirelessly in the background, following the real stories and the money trail first raised by U.S. Treasury agent Leo Wanta, whose project authorized by President Ronald Reagan to destabilize the Russian currency at the end of the Cold war generated vast sums of money to be returned to the U.S. Treasury.

Inevitable false positives will result in "ordinary, law-abiding citizens and businesses" being incorrectly flagged as suspects.

FTW: Open Wide the Jaws

The Republicans are throwing the election to the Democrats like it was a flaming bobcat on meth. I shudder to contemplate what might be left of the economy by January. I repeat that this is all good. It is leaving functioning infrastructure intact. But the speed with this is unravelling has made me worry about the possibility of civil unrest before the election. I do not think it likely, but it is remotely possible. Civil unrest before the election -- if serious enough --might give Bush the pretext to go CoG. CoG means continuity of government and the suspension of virtually every right we thought we had. Simple mathematics argues against this likelihood however. There are nowhere near enough troops inside the country to impose martial law. The military is stretched beyond belief and the combat veterans are worn out from multiple deployments and Stop Gap. The soldiers and Marines are not in a good mood. They want to go home to take care of their families. Martial law won't fly; not with 270 million firearms in private hands. Hell, probably two thirds of all law enforcement personnel in the country have just seen their pensions cut in half or worse.

This concerns an aspect of the subprime scams and, basically and stripped of euphemistic words and propaganda phrases, is that very large amounts of money from various banks and financial institutions and the owners and controllers thereof were, and are being, sent outside this country to a secure area. Israel atones, but not for financial irresponsibility

JERUSALEM (MarketWatch) -- Every year as the Day of Atonement approaches, Israelis of all walks take stock of both their personal and national failures over the past year, and every autumn since 1973 this has included particularly somber introspection in the wake of that year's Yom Kippur War, the Jewish state's Pearl Harbor.

This Wednesday, however, as a sense of Pearl Harbor grips the world's financial capitals while Israeli highways empty and synagogues overflow for Judaism's holiest day, Israelis will have the rare experience of beating other people's chests, not just their own as ritual dictates.
Surely, one thing Israelis are intimately familiar with is crisis, and that includes the economic type. But past financial crises either involved Israel directly -- the 1974 oil embargo and the 1985 hyperinflation, for example -- or were altogether about other people's money, as with Black Monday in 1987, which was too remote for pre-globalization-era Israelis to even understand, let alone feel.

The active denial of the Torture Industrial Complex

The other day on Glenn Greenwald's blog, bystander cited Digby who remarked about a nasty crowd control device that has been documented by the BBC recently. That led to track down more about the two systems referred to in the article, the Active Denial System, and the Silent Guardian. It turns out that the relationship between these two is that Active Denial System is the U.S. military's requested, and largely implemented weapon for something in between crowd control and counterinsurgency, and that Silent Guardian is Raytheon's implementation of the main weapon, a collimated 1 millimeter (95GHz) beam 45 inches square, and has a range of 250 meters.

BULLETIN ITEM: Naomi Wolfe- The Coup Began Oct 1st

MWM: This is a date of convenience, we all understand that the slow-moving coup (to replace the Republic with Empire) began with the assassination of JFK. With this date, Naomi is asserting that the final stage of obliterating the constitution with Caeserian Diktat has begun. She argues that the worldwide financial panic is being induced to create conditions for suspension of the elections. She believes that Bush and his regime need to be formally arrested by District Attornies for various crimes of treason. It is certainly true that a world panic has begun and that conditions are destablizing now daily, even hourly. The next several months are highly likely to be completely UNPREDICTABLE. Nobody knows where bottom is.

I personally doubt that Bush can be "arrested" at this point, as a practical matter. He can simply tell them all to go hell and arrest them if they intervere in "government business". He has the muscle to do that, they don't, and in all matters of reality, possession is 90% of everything. Might does make right in the real world of empires and police states. But I don't think arresting Bush is necessary or sufficient to stop the coup.

Not that the coup should NOT be taken seriously. It should be. We are being political defrauded at the most fundamental levels.

At the moment, however, I believe that the Cabal is keen to replace Bush with a more popular frontman. He is such a goofy albatross. So they will use the economic meltdown "emergencies" to consolidate more powers and steal away more resources from people before the next President is elected. Keep in mind as well that it is doubtful that these people really know what they are doing in the depth they need to play their games successfully. I believe they are in way over their heads scripting cheap third rate action thriller plot lines in a novel for adolescent mentalities. All this Cabal business sounds and reads sophisticated, evil genious at work, but at the emotional existential level, the Caballeros are idiots. This is why they will completely fail.

Before then, I suspect that all political and economic conditions will be very confusing. It is so outragious that a significant number of people may vote third party for Nadar or the Constitutionalists as a reactionary flight to reason and freedom from imperial hubris. If they do so in the range of 5-10%, and I strongly urge people to do so, they would deadlock the elections and throw the final decision to Congress next January. These voters will not likely tilt either the Repubcons or Demoquislings into power. But in Congress, Obama will likely win, much chastened and listening more intently to what is really going on.

Vote fraud and third party voters, then, will likely stalemate all schemes. IT IS A VERY GOOD IDEA TO BLOCK, STOP, DEADLOCK, and thus "arrest" the system during this period of time. It would be fantastic to throw the elections deadlocked into the Congress. It will greatly magnify the electoral fraud issues, impell greater reform, and it will also force democrats to eat crow and understand they are NOT a majority party with a mandate from God to extend the Empire more gloriously and skillfully than the clumsy man in the bush. This will disconcert the Cabal NO END and keep them guessing. The more they have to guess, the more errors and blunders they will committ. This will generate more and more ammunition for the coming Constitutional Revolution.

That simple.

And please, everyone, realize that one of the main figures of the power elite who needs to be pantsed, revealed, and discussed in Zbigniew Brzezynski. He is one of the coup handlers over the Democratic Party. He is one of the major architects of the little shop of horrors which grew up to become the crooked, crony, catastrophe known as the American Empire. He is as charming as Count Dracula, and as disgustingly deadly. This man's role needs to be pounded, pounded, and pounded some more. Wooden stakes, anyone?

Time Monks report on the morning of the day of reckoning

Coordinated Central Bank Intervention Day

One way the present linguistic expectation set could be read is that there's a coordinated release of money coming from the various central banks in response to the global banking crisis, as outlined in a Federal Reserve press release out this morning at 08:15 AM...(which BTW is fairly close to our 'ideal' 07:10 UTC timeframe which we've been talking about for more than a year...)

Global Market Panic

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Desperate measures by governments in Europe and North America to steady the banking system failed to stem panic in global markets Monday amid deepening gloom at the scope of the financial crisis.

Nothing seemed to stop stock markets taking, in many cases, record falls.

Nigel Gault at Global Insight said the markets were seeing a realization of "the worst fear," namely "that the financial crisis and the slowdown in economic growth would reinforce each other, dragging the economy into recession, perhaps a severe one."

Tomorrow (now TODAY) the Coup?

Tomorrow, October 7, will mark the end of our first week into the Coup that officially began on the first day of this month. This coup actually slipped out from behind the curtain way back in September of 2002 when Congress officially gave this 'License to Kill' to the president of the United States!
"Since this man came to office the congress of the United States has failed in its duties to the public you are sworn to serve and to the Constitution you have sworn to uphold.
In instance after instance you have entertained and passed a steady stream of un-American laws and resolutions that are squarely aimed at undermining the Constitutional provisions of the Bill of Rights and many of the Amendments to the Constitution, which are matters of existing law." (1)

Get your dollars out now! FAST!

The events of the last two weeks have clearly revealed that the global financial, monetary and banking system imposed on the world by the power structures promoting "globalization" is fundamentally flawed, unviable and immoral in its effects upon the most all of Mankind. After allowing a small cabal of shady characters to illegitimately accumulate vast amounts of wealth and power over markets, corporations, industries, media, armed forces and entire nations, like the World Trade Center towers on 9/11, this entire System is now in free-fall, collapsing into itself in one massive implosion.

The Economics and Politics of Ignorance: 4 reasons why Wall St, politicians & MSM don't care about you

Congratulations! We are now the future proud owners of $700 $810 billion in the most toxic, putrid, rancid, and horrific mortgages that humankind has ever encountered. On Friday as the Congress went through their Broadway-like charade of actually debating and acting like they care about middle America, the bill which was just rejected on Monday was passed even though the 451 page new Senate bill was essentially the 110 page bill that was rejected just earlier in the week. The market at one point was up 300+ points with only a few hours before closing. Where did the DOW end the day after we sold out America to Wall Street? Down 157 points. Why? Because after this anti-climatic Wall Street bailout the American people now need to confront the reality that their politicians, Wall Street, and mainstream media don’t give a damn about them. Why? I’ll give you 4 reasons.

Whitney: Edge of the Abyss

Years from today, when the current financial crisis is over, historians are likely to agree that it would have been far better if the Bush administration had declared a state of emergency earlier in the process so that the necessary steps could have taken to avoid a complete financial meltdown. The media could have been used to bring the American people up to date on market-related developments and educated in the bizarre language of structured finance. Knowledge is power; and power can prevent panic.

Now we're in a terrible fix. People are scared and removing their money from the banks and money markets. This is intensifying the freeze in the credit markets and driving stocks into the ground like a tent stake. Meanwhile, our leaders are caught in the headlights, still believing they can finesse their way through the biggest economic cataclysm since the Great Depression.

Roberts: A Futile Bailout

America has become a pretty discouraging place. Americans, for the most part, will never know what happened to them, because they no longer have a free and responsible press. They have Big Brother’s press. For example, on September 28, 2008, a New York Times editorial blamed the current financial crisis on “antiregulation disciples of the Reagan Revolution.”

What utter nonsense. Every example of deregulation that the New York Times editorial provides is located in the Clinton Administration and the George W. Bush administration. I was a member of the Reagan administration. We most certainly did not deregulate the financial system.

The Bailout in Plain English

Speaking in the Tongues of Brokers

By Joe Bageant

Any number of cultural historians have noted the American belief that success is a sign of God's favor. And over the past couple of decades he has had a downright love fest with the already-rich. So much so that the richest 400 Americans now have more money stashed away that the combined bottom 150 million Americans. Some $1.6 trillion bucks.

Europe calls for global summit on bank crisis to 'rebuild the world's financial system'

Gordon Brown and other European Union leaders called last night for a global economic summit to 'rebuild the world's financial system' as they held emergency talks on how to prevent a repeat of the current international credit crisis.

At a hastily convened meeting in Paris, French President Nicolas Sarkozy said the heads of the EU's four biggest economies - Germany, France, the UK and Italy - were united on the need to call all leading economic nations together to create 'a new financial world just as Bretton Woods did 60 years ago'.

The summit, planned for next month, is expected to include the G8 leading industrial nations, as well as India, China, South Africa, Brazil and Mexico. Sarkozy, who called last night's meeting in his role as EU President, said it was time for governments to clamp down on speculators and restore a moral element to the heart of a regime that had failed.

An anonymous, perhaps insider opinion of what this all means

Greetings and Salutations;

I know some noticed but, I don't think many got the significance of the market close last monday. The message was in the numbers and without a doubt, it was purposely placed by they who are running this show for all to see, who could understand the code, across the world.

It was a good message for us, bad message to the losers of this game. Anyone who's been to Las Vegas or Reno knows what happens when triple 7's come up on the old one armed bandit, the lights, the sirens, and all sorts of bells and whistles happen for the winner. We are the winners!

While we sat in the us, agonizing about this nothing bill they were trying to pass and all about how this was screwing the tax payer, not once would any of those folks come out and explain the real reason. In more than one way, I've pointed out the fact that the us is under foreclosure. No way were they going to plead their case out in a international setting, where they would lose to all the folks holding the paper for the massive debt.

So chicanery was manufactured to put lipstick on the pig of being totally broke, for the public. Better you think they were just robbing you, than let you know, they go nothing and the debt was being called. Cornered rats only focus on survival, not about how it looks. Junior was certainly a picture of well being this week, wasn't he? Must've gotten some of that bad milk being recalled in china right now.

Now along with a foreclosure comes restructuring...but no one is going to say that out loud, either. However, when the dump happens, immediately at it's conclusion, junior will give another speech and explain to his fellow 'mericans how he and his economic team got the bull by the horns and fixed it so this stuff would never happen again.

The New American Century: Cut short by 92 years

America's time as a superpower is coming to an end. The financial crisis was just the last straw. Whatever good faith was left after the invasion of Iraq, the shrugging off of international treaties and the shameless disregard for human rights, is now gone. The United States has polluted the global economic system with worthless mortgage-backed securities and, by doing so, has pushed 6 billion people closer to a long and painful recession. That's not something that can be easily forgiven.

Grand Larceny on a monumental scale

OCTOBER 1, 2008—Tonight the Senate passed the $700 billion Wall Street bailout bill by a vote of 74-25. This follows the rejection of the bill by the House on Monday. In an MSNBC poll, 62 percent of Americans oppose the giveaway, but the lobbyists are doing everything possible to assure the rejection is overturned. According to Bob Borosage, co-director of The Campaign for America’s Future, House leaders "are bringing in the small business lobby and the banking lobby to buy the twelve Republican votes they need."

The Senate took up the bill in order to pressure House members who voted against it to change their positions when it returns to a vote on the House floor on Friday. This procedure may be unconstitutional, because revenue bills must originate in the House, but there is no time or political will for anyone to mount a challenge on constitutional grounds. As another means of inducement—or blackmail—the bill includes the repeal of the wildly unjust alternative minimum tax.

CDS's and the Showdown at the Linguistics Corral

For more than a year, the linguistics work of www.halfpasthuman.com has been pointing with a high degree of specificity to October 7, 2008 at 07:10 UTC as a 'moment' on the timeline when the whole world will stop its 'tension building language around present events and will shift into what we call 'release language'. To explain a bit further, the events we have seen recently have been predominately the kind that cause us to suck in breath, and hold it, very much like I'm watching the U.S. futures markets which show the SPOO's down about 3% while things in the UK are right on the verge of collapse. If the language is right, 'you ain't seen nothing yet' and the balance of this week should be the mother of all economic events that will be referred to in future textbooks as the (whatever-they-call-it) of 2008.

The Tripwire

What would be the tripwire resulting in open rebellion? Examining the Bill of Rights, and considering EXISTING laws only, and not failed attempts, you will find that every clause has been violated to one degree or another.

Documenting those violations would fill volumes, and it is important to remember that only government can violate the exercise of unalienable individual rights and claim immunity from retribution. We omit martial law or public suspension of the Constitution as a tripwire. The overnight installation of dictatorship obviously would qualify as "the tripwire," but is not likely to occur. What has occurred, what is occurring, is the implementation of every aspect of such dictatorship without an overt declaration. The Constitution is being killed by attrition. The Communist Manifesto is being installed by accretion. Any suggestion that martial law is the tripwire leads us to the question: what aspect of martial law justifies the first shot?

Wash Post's Pearlstein: Anyone opposing the bailout is ignorant

Washington Post business columnist Steven Pearlstein has spent the week insisting that only gross ignorance could account for opposition to the Paulson bailout. After the House rejected the bailout plan on Monday, he wrote a column -- entitled "They Just Don't Get It" -- arguing that bailout opponents simply "don't understand the seriousness of the situation." He scoffed at the idea that any well-informed person could question -- let alone oppose -- the specific Paulson bailout plan Steve Pearlstein favors.

Mind Detox XXII: Cyrano's Journal Online/Thomas Paine's Corner (Proudly Piercing the Simulacrum since 1982)

From: Jason S. Miller

Until we have the courage to recognize cruelty for what it is - whether the victim is human or animal - we cannot expect things to be much better in this world. We cannot have peace among men whose hearts delight in killing any living creature. By every act that glorifies or even tolerates such moronic delight in killing, we set back the progress of humanity".
- Rachel Carson

"Our science-driven and abundance-based predator management program involves volunteers who are permitted to use aircraft to kill some predators where we are trying to increase opportunities for Alaskans to put healthy food on their families' dinner tables. It is not hunting."
--Sarah Palin

Please forward Mind Detox to as many people as you can.....

1. THE DOG DAYS OF SEPTEMBER by Gary Corseri
I am supposed to believe that John McCain is a “war-hero.” On the campaign trail, this decrepit muppet cannot get through his set speech without looking at his notes, but he repeats the mantra tirelessly. Frankly, I see nothing “heroic” in dropping bombs on civilians thousands of feet below. The true heroes of the Vietnam War died at Kent State, trying to stop that illegal, imperialist war. Say their names with reverence: Jeffrey, Allison, William, Sandra.

2. DEFINITIONS: THE INTELLIGENTSIA by Gaither Stewart
In pre-revolutionary Russia the intelligentsia did not mean a professional part of the population such as writers, academicians, philosophers, sociologists, academicians and educated people in general. Instead it was a social group united by ideas: a similar political direction, philosophy and world outlook. Just read Dostoevsky’s novels and you read novels of the ideas projected by the intelligentsia of then. Historically the word implies radicalism and a desire for drastic socio-political change, a particularly valid consideration for intellectuals in the USA.

3. Crisis and the Crossroads of History: The Need for a Radicalized Citizenry by Dr. Steve Best
The global Animal Liberation Movement is an abolitionist movement that demands the end to all forms of animal exploitation, not merely reducing suffering; like its 19th century predecessor, it demands the eradication of slavery, not better treatment of the slaves. Stolen from the wild, bred and raised in captivity, held in cages and chains against their will and without their consent, animals literally are slaves, and thereby integral elements of the contemporary capitalist slave economy.

4. Of Family Jewels and Scapegoats by Anwaar Hussain
Those documents, Mr. Boucher, proved to be an elaborate record of some of the most outrageous intelligence abuses of the Cold War, including assassination plots against foreign leaders and illegal efforts to spy on Americans including student anti-war activists, Black Power group leaders, Castro sympathizers and Soviet dissidents. The documents revealed that CIA operatives worked closely with local police to gather intelligence against groups planning protests at the presidential conventions in 1972 and that anti-war activists were followed.

5. The Great Circus by John Steppling
Colonialism never ended. Fascism is alive. NATO is an organ of Imperialism, and the defense budget is over two billion a day. So when we get up in the morning to go to a job we don’t like, and to get paid a wage that barely, if it all, can support our family, and when ghouls like Cheney or Biden or Bush or Gordon Brown, or Sarko, or Angie Merkle are held up as anything other than what they are, empty cardboard cut outs created to mouth the platitudes of the prevailing class interests, try to look for the places where real change might take place. The police are there to protect property, not to protect you. Same with the military, which is there to further the economic hegemony of the imperial class. Trust none of it.

6. From ‘Mortgage Crisis’ to ‘Economic Meltdown’ by Rowan Wolf
What we are seeing is the effects of unfettered capitalism. The mantra of the neo-conservatives and Friedmanites is to let “markets” run unchecked by oversight and limitations. The results of that is the unfettered expropriation of wealth and resources. When money and profit are the only consideration, then life (individual’s and the planet’s) is not even on the radar screen. This was indirectly reinforced by McCain’s recent repetition of “the fundamental of the economy are strong.” When he tried to elaborate on that, he said that the “fundamentals” he was referring to were the hard work and ingenuity of the U.S. workforce. What that translates into is that the workforce is still there for exploitation.

7. From “Dominion” to Domination: The Duplicity and Complicity of Matthew Scully by Dr. Steve Best
And, as it turned out, as so many of us were bracing ourselves for the nauseating Republican National Convention in early September 08, not wanting to hear another disingenuous word from “straight-talking” McCain but curious to hear about unknown Alaskan female governor whom he shrewdly chose to win Hillary’s armies of disaffected, we learned — at this crisis moment and critical juncture for the Far Right — that Matthew Scully stepped in to write the kind of speech the McCain team thought necessary to disguise their malignant and predatory policies in terms of populism and family values. Right-wing soldier that he is, Scully stayed up the entire night before the speech and gave the magic words to which Sara Palin only had to give life in order to sell this sordid spectacle and sham to the US public and bring us another 4 more years of Bush—or probably much, much worse.

8. Yes, we’re matricidal: Murdering Mother Earth one forest, one species and one atom at a time by Jason Miller
Our dirty little secret here in the US is that we built and buttressed our crumbling empire by unleashing a force so potent and so capable of rendering life on Earth extinct that it makes capitalism’s “slow motion” ecocide look like candy-striping. In 1945 we became the first and only country to harness the power of nuclear fission and utilize it as a weapon of mass destruction. Our cold-blooded murder of hundreds of thousands of Japanese civilians cemented our position as global hegemon.

9. 101 ways to get rich without doing anything socially useful by William Blum
What’s the proper term to use to categorize a person who is … blindly patriotic, jingoist, an evangelical Christian creationist, gun and hunting enthusiast, National Rifle Association supporter; denies the science behind global warming, with a philosophy of “dig, dig, dig”, and in foreign policy: “bomb”, “bomb”, “bomb”; untraveled, uneducated, ignorant, a devoted book-banner, racist, opposed to equal rights for gays, fanatically anti-abortion, anti-feminist, and has a 17-year-old daughter pregnant and unmarried? The proper American term is “white trash”. Or, as the honorable governor of Alaska apparently prefers, “redneck.”

10. The Internet and the Death of Communications - Part 1 by Michael Goodspeed
When Andy Warhol observed, “Everybody is famous for fifteen minutes,” he surely presaged this era of YouTube kings and queens, these MySpace gods and goddesses, a million faces and voices all competing for a fleeting moment of attention. An endless quest for “love” in the form of hit counts and five-star ratings. On the plus side, collective and individual narcissism can sometimes provide incentive for real creative brilliance — many artistic and intellectual geniuses had immature or downright schizophrenic motives. But everywhere in cyberspace, we see the signs that the “inmates are running the asylum.” If discourse, dialog, circumspection, and humility are the tools of the enlightened, then shouting, bleating, ignorance and arrogance are the tools of the wretched.

11. Portrait of an Animal Researcher by David Irving
In 2003 at Columbia University, a whistleblower exposed experiments in which mother baboons and their babies in-utero were operated on repeatedly to measure the flow of nicotine through the umbilical chord; baboons had one eye removed in senseless experiments to induce strokes before being abandoned in cages without care or painkillers; and monkeys had metal pipes implanted in their craniums driving them into a frenzy in irrelevant menstrual stress studies. The suffering these animals endured ended only when they died from the effects of the experiments or when they were killed by their researchers.

12. Bageant unbound by Gary Corseri
I don’t know of any contemporary writer who has better expressed the heart and soul and consciousness of this “other America.” Bageant holds the mirror up to human nature–shows us (and the world) our varied, complex, fragile, pathetic, and sometimes triumphant, selves.
http://www.bestcyrano.org/cyrano/?p=1503

13. PITBULLS and COLONIALIST GHOSTS by John Steppling
Still, the slight, though legitimate connection Obama has to black culture is vitally important. Sarah Palin is the distillation of all that is wrong with America. A mean-spirited half-educated former beauty queen runner up — a snarky loathsome force of reaction, a mendacious bigot and lover of death… running alongside the semi-retarded (and semi senile) son of an Admiral. McCain is perhaps even more stupid than Bush, although such classifications are meaningless when IQ drops below the Mendoza line. Together they form such a vortex of bad faith and anger that nothing I’ve ever seen comes close.
