Without a legacy to stand on

Without a Legacy to Stand On is a public project that invites those who were affected by the eight years of the George W. Bush administration to share their stories and make them public. Unlike history books that are written by professors or “spun” by political pundits, Without a Legacy to Stand On is intended to be a collective of real stories told in the first person “by the people, for the people”. People just like you and me.

It is my hope that by so doing, future generations can learn what it was like to lose a loved one to war, a home to foreclosure, a fight with medical insurers or a chance at the American dream. Under George W. Bush, a lot of people lost hope as well as money; many fell through the cracks that have now become part of an even greater divide between the haves and the have nots. Some people lost everything.
