netanyahu pulling obama's strings in un general assembly

excerpt:

Let’s be perfectly clear about what is actually gong on here.

There will never ever be a Palestinian state while the US and the Zionists of Israel have anything to do with it. This latest move is as much a waste of time as all the other talks have ever been.

...

Now that he has President Obama dancing to his tune over the settlements issue in the West Bank, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is now consolidating support among Western and Arab allies for moves to push for sanctions against Iran over Iran’s non-existent nuclear weapons program.

Netanyahu clearly feels that he is on a roll after his series of meetings with Obama and other Western leaders, including Canadian, Australian and New Zealand, at the UN General Assembly this week. Netanyahu is fully aware that sanctions are unlikely to deter Iran from continuing its nuclear power generation program so is hoping to push through with the formalities of sanctions so that the next phase of attacking Iran can be implemented after it has been shown that ‘sanctions’ aren’t working. Reports as to whether or not Russia and/or China will support sanctions are mixed today with the ‘Washington Post’ saying that ‘Russia and China appeared to rule out sanctions or military action’ while Israeli ultra right-wing newsagency ‘Arutz Sheva’ reports that ‘Russia and China will likely not oppose new tougher sanctions on Iran’.

Time will tell.

LET US REMEMBER THAT IRAN HAS A LEGAL RIGHT TO CONSTRUCT THIS FACILITY, AND IRAN HAS SIGNED THE NPT. - ED.

Iran tells IAEA that it is building a 2nd enrichment facility

VIENNA (Reuters) - Iran has told the U.N. nuclear watchdog it has a second uranium enrichment plant under construction, a belated disclosure sure to heighten Western fears of an Iranian bid for atom bombs.

The International Atomic Energy Agency said on Friday Iran had revealed the existence of the plant to IAEA Director-General Mohamed ElBaradei on Monday, just as six world powers and Iran prepare to discuss its disputed nuclear drive on October 1.

The IAEA said Iran had told ElBaradei in a letter that the plant would enrich uranium only to a level needed to generate electricity.

"The agency also understands from Iran that no nuclear material has been introduced into the facility," International Atomic Energy Agency spokesman Marc Vidricaire said.

The agency requested specific information and an immediate inspection of the plant to ensure it was for peaceful purposes.

BBC: Iran 'has second enrichment site'

excerpts:

Iran has revealed the existence of a second uranium enrichment plant, the UN nuclear watchdog has confirmed.

...The US, UK and France are set to accuse Iran of concealing the plant later on Friday, media reports say.

[WHY MUST THEY BE 'SET TO ACCUSE' SINCE IRAN HAS ALREADY REVEALED THE EXISTENCE OF THE TOTALLY LEGAL FACILITY UNDER CONSTRUCTION????? IT'S ALL SIMPLY TO PUT IRAN IN THE WORSE POSSIBLE LIGHT TO JUSTIFY THE COMPLETELY UNJUSTIFIABLE ATTACK THAT ISRAEL WANTS ON IRAN. - ED]

They and other Western nations have long feared that Iran is planning to develop an atomic weapon.

The IAEA confirmed it received a letter from Iran on Monday informing it that "a new pilot fuel enrichment plant is under construction".

Iran told the agency that no nuclear material had been introduced into the plant, and enrichment levels would only be high enough to make nuclear fuel, not a bomb.

In response, the IAEA has requested Iran to "provide specific information and access to the facility as soon as possible", an IAEA statement adds.

Earlier, the New York Times quoted US officials as saying that the secret site - built inside a mountain near the ancient city of Qom - is not yet complete, but could be ready for operation next year.

It said the facility is believed to be capable of holding some 3,000 centrifuges, the machines that enrich uranium for electricity or, at higher levels of enrichment, for a bomb.

This development will encourage fears that Iran has other secret facilities that could be used to make a nuclear bomb, the BBC's Tehran correspondent, Jon Leyne, says in London.

who really is behind 'Russia Today'?

by Matthew Jarvie

excerpt:

People must realize that all effective propaganda contains large amounts of truth in order to be convincing to its audience. It's how the information is presented and spun that determines the outcome.

Is it possible that a news network such as the Novosti-controlled Russia Today serves a purpose that is the same or similar to what the so-called "Truth" Movement serves? What if the ultimate goal was not to inform and educate, but rather demoralize so people will be more likely to accept a solution that's offered by the same people who created the problems to begin with? While it is true that many people have "woken up" in recent years, we must ask ourselves what it really means to have "woken up." How many people that have woken up to the rampant corruption behind the Federal Reserve and the truth behind 9/11, really have a good understanding of the bigger picture and how it relates to the Hegelian dialectic? I would say of the people who have "woken up," few have an adequate understanding of how the system really works and therefore are more likely to accept a phony "solution" to what they see as a system that is broken and beyond repair (which it is).

...

I have expressed the belief in numerous previous articles that the Truth Movement is controlled opposition being steered and directed without the knowledge of its participants for the following purposes:

* To marginalize and discredit the truth and independent-minded truthseekers with sensationalism, wild antics and bogus rumors.

* To incite people to act out of fear through violence, creating an order out of chaos situation that plays into the system's agenda.

* To lead people into another false paradigm where they are unable to see the big picture and look for non-existent solutions within the system.

* To break people down and demoralize them with constant fear-mongering, so they are even more easy to manipulate and deceive.

humanity under attack: the tactics of social engineering

The history of humanity has been one long stream of free human beings fighting against despotic tyrants; the tribe, and the families within it defending themselves against oppression. Today, the western world is falling into the depths of tyranny mirroring Orwell's 1984, and a predatory system is being erected. In the event that you, your friends, family, and the rest of the general population are successfully convinced that selfish needs outweigh those of others, are robbed of individuality, passion, empathy and principle, the fabric of society disintegrates. In this social climate, the perfect environment is created for predators from within our own species to misdirect and finally enslave the distracted, decadent population. Corrupt politicians are venerated, celebrity worshipped, and security outweighs the desire for liberty. Mindless worship of power, support of dictators and their atrocities, general degradation of society, loss of liberty; it all stems from you not respecting yourself, not retaining your sense of individuality, and in turn the fire that beats in your breast for FREEDOM.

Contrary to what many believe, there currently exists an elite on this planet, a ruthless, cunning elite that seeks to dominate free human beings the world over, and humanity as a whole, as a tribe, is threatened by them. They make no secret about their plans, and little attempt to hide their intentions. Honor is their enemy, courage their foe, and they dread the thought of free, informed human beings armed with the truth, - and a passion for it - standing in opposition to them and their programs of domination. In ancient times, the family, the tribe, and the protection of both from harm were priorities, that if ignored would lead to the destruction of both family and tribe. Fundamental drives, instincts, and other aspects of humanity are today manipulated, controlled, and redirected by social engineers.

Vaclav Klaus: UN climate meeting was propaganda

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Czech President Vaclav Klaus sharply criticized a U.N. meeting on climate change on Tuesday at which U.S. President Barack Obama was among the top speakers, describing it as propagandistic and undignified.

"It was sad and it was frustrating," said Klaus, one of the world's most vocal skeptics on the topic of global warming.

"It's a propagandistic exercise where 13-year-old girls from some far-away country perform a pre-rehearsed poem," he said. "It's simply not dignified."

china hostile to iran sanctions

China signalled its hostility to new sanctions on Iran over its nuclear programme yesterday, even as western powers intensified their drive to increase pressure on Tehran.

A day after foreign ministers from the world's big powers - including China itself - called on Tehran to deliver a "serious response" to their offer of negotiations over the nuclear programme, Beijing highlighted its misgivings on a tougher stance. "China always believes that sanctions and pressure should not be an option and will not be conducive to the current diplomatic efforts over the Iran nuclear issue," said Jiang Yu, a foreign ministry spokeswoman.

of two minds: why the dollar may not be doomed

The consensus is nearly universal that the dollar is doomed. Perhaps there are other forces at work beneath the surface.

It seems a given now that the U.S. dollar is doomed to either slow depreciation or devaluation. Perhaps--but the consensus seems too easy. Yes, money supply and liquidity have exploded as the Fed and Treasury fight deflation, and yes, history suggests expanding the money supply debases the currency.

That the dollar has been debased is clear enough if we measure the dollar's value in gold. Priced in gold, the dollar has lost over 2/3 of its value in a mere decade. Courtesy of contributor Harun I., here is a chart of gold:

Iran replaces the US dollar with the Euro

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has ordered the replacement of the US dollar by the euro in the country’s foreign exchange accounts.

The September 12 edict was issued following a decision by the trustees of the country’s foreign reserves, Mehr News Agency reported.

Earlier, the Islamic Republic of Iran had announced that the euro would replace the greenback in the country’s oil transactions. Iran has called on other OPEC members to ditch the sinking dollar in favor of the more credible euro.

Following the switch, the interest rate for the facilities provided from the Foreign Exchange Reserves will be reduced from12 to 5 percent.

Since being introduced by the European Union, the euro has gained popularity internationally and there are now more euros in circulation than the dollar.

The move will also help decouple Iran from the US banking system.

who carries the burden of proof?

Gulf countries throwing their weight around to stop Iran's non-existant nuclear weapons program

Gulf countries are seeking to play a new role in the race to stop Iran's nuclear programme by using their economic leverage to line up support for tough sanctions, Arab and European officials said yesterday.

Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will use the prospect of oil contracts, arms deals and work visas to persuade Russia and China, who have been resisting tougher UN sanctions, that their long-term strategic interests lie with them, not in Iran.

"China and Russia have so far not been presented with the right incentives. They have not been presented with a better substitute," said Sami al-Faraj, an adviser to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the main regional grouping.

...

He listed China and Russia's interest in establishing free trade arrangements with the Gulf, Russia's desire to sell weapons, and China's anxiety to seal oil exploration agreements in the region, and to win visas in the Gulf for Chinese workers as among the principal levers that could be pulled to win support for UN sanctions. Saudi Arabia is reported to be on the verge of a deal to buy more than $2bn (£1.2bn) worth of Russian arms, in the wake of a bilateral military agreement signed last year.

The Saudi monarchy is not pursuing the deal primarily for military purposes, some officials speculated yesterday, but for diplomatic reasons, as an inducement to Russia not to sell advanced anti-aircraft missiles to Iran. For the same reason, Kuwait is also said to have agreed to reschedule Russian debt and Bahrain has opened talks to buy Russian jet fighters. The GCC as a whole is negotiating with China to issue up to a million work visas to absorb some of China's rising unemployment.

"Everyone has something to offer," Faraj said. "We need to go to work as a coalition in peace like we have done in war, if we are to prevent another war."

Arab countries have been alarmed by the spread of Iranian influence in Lebanon and in Gaza and are concerned that Iran might attempt to become the single dominant power in the Middle East. [wow they sound just like Israel hmm go figure - ed.]

Russia, Saudi Arabia set to finalize arms deal

excerpt:

MOSCOW — Saudi Arabia is close to signing a two-billion-dollar (1.4-billion-euro) deal to buy Russian arms, a Russian defence industry source was quoted as saying on Saturday.

...Saudi Arabia -- a close US ally -- has long bought most of its arms from the United States and Western Europe, but in recent years has been in talks on buying military equipment from Russia.

Meanwhile Russia is keen to find new markets for its weapons exports, one of the few sectors of Russian manufacturing that has enjoyed international success.

In 2008 Moscow and Riyadh signed a military cooperation treaty, and this year Saudi King Abdullah received a delegation that included a top Kremlin adviser and an official from Rosoboronexport.

Russia says it will join sanctions against Iran

President Obama’s biggest foreign policy gamble appeared to pay off last night as Russia opened the door to punishing new sanctions on Iran to halt its nuclear programme.

Emerging from his first meeting with Mr Obama since the Eastern Europe missile shield was scrapped, President Medvedev of Russia conceded that “in some cases, sanctions are inevitable”.

Mr Obama went into the meeting, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, ready to press Russia to support sanctions if Iran refused to address concerns about its nuclear activities. He emerged saying that Mr Medvedev had agreed that “serious additional sanctions” must be considered if diplomatic efforts fail.

That stance was reiterated later by David Miliband, the Foreign Secretary, who emerged from a meeting of foreign ministers from the E3 + 3 countries – Britain, France, Germany, the US, Russia and China — to declare a united front on a policy of diplomacy and sanctions. Mr Miliband called for a “serious response” from Iran at talks scheduled for October 1 if it wished to avoid sanctions.

Mr Medvedev’s – admittedly lukewarm – support for sanctions is seen as payback for Washington’s decision to move its defensive missile shield from Poland and the Czech Republic to the Mediterranean. China was the only remaining Security Council power opposing sanctions on Iran, but the statement from the E3 + 3 suggested that it too was ready to consider them.

In his address last night, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian President, failed to mention the nuclear issue but sparked a walkout by a handful of Western countries, including Britain, when he slammed Israel as racist and denounced Jewish influence in the world.

There had been speculation that he would use even harsher rhetoric to deflect the focus from his disputed re-election and mounting allegations of human rights abuses.

Diplomats said that the date of October 1 had been set to give world leaders time for bargaining during the Assembly. Western officials were pressing Arab leaders to get behind the effort. They met delegates from the Gulf Co-operation Council to discuss how to target Iran’s energy sectors.

In 2006 the UN Security Council voted to ban the supply of nuclear- related technology and materials to Iran and to freeze the assets of key individuals and companies related to the enrichment programme. Two years later, the EU voted to impose financial sanctions. New sanctions under consideration range from a ban on foreign investment and the encouragement of capital flight to put pressure on Iran’s currency to a ban on the export of equipment or technology for oil and gas exploration. A ban on refined petroleum exports is being considered.

Arab states have expressed alarm at Iran’s nuclear capabilities but do not want to ally themselves with Israel. Saudi Arabia is trying to lure Russia into cancelling its S-300 anti-missile system deal with Iran in return for buying $2 billion of its arms. Inducements such as oil deals and jobs for migrant workers could help to persuade China that their interests lie west of Tehran.

In his address to the assembly, President Sarkozy of France warned Iran that it would be making a “tragic mistake” if it underestimated worldwide concern over its nuclear ambitions. He said later that December was the deadline for Iran to prove that the diplomatic track was worth pursuing.

Mr Ahmadinejad indicated in an interview, however, that he planned to stretch out the negotiations. He insisted that he only wanted uranium enriched to 20 per cent — well below the 90 per cent required for weapons grade — for a small research reactor. Until now, Iran has produced only low-enriched uranium. If his request is refused, it could use this as a pretext to produce highly-enriched material.

waking up to discover the mortgage market was a giant criminal enterprise

A landmark ruling in a recent Kansas Supreme Court case may have given millions of distressed homeowners the legal wedge they need to avoid foreclosure. In Landmark National Bank v. Kesler, 2009 Kan. LEXIS 834, the Kansas Supreme Court held that a nominee company called MERS has no right or standing to bring an action for foreclosure. MERS is an acronym for Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, a private company that registers mortgages electronically and tracks changes in ownership. The significance of the holding is that if MERS has no standing to foreclose, then nobody has standing to foreclose – on 60 million mortgages. That is the number of American mortgages currently reported to be held by MERS. Over half of all new U.S. residential mortgage loans are registered with MERS and recorded in its name. Holdings of the Kansas Supreme Court are not binding on the rest of the country, but they are dicta of which other courts take note; and the reasoning behind the decision is sound.

via Landmark Decision: Massive Relief for Homeowners and Trouble for the Banks.

This is a potentially gigantic story. It seems that a court has ruled that about half of the mortgage market has been run as a criminal enterprise for years, which would invalidate any potential forelosure proceedings for about, oh, 60 million mortgages. The court ruled that the electronic transfer system used by the private company MERS — a clearing system for mortgages, similar to a depository, that is used for about half the mortgage market — is fundamentally unreliable, and any mortgage sold and/or transferred through MERS can’t be foreclosed upon, at least not in Kansas.

dreaming the world awake

by Peter Chamberlain

And that was the way it all ended, during that fateful week in September, 2009, the week when one man, President Barack Obama turned the old order upon its head, giving us the blessed New Order we all share in today, in peace and harmony, no longer shackled to the wheels of war that drove the old solutions to humanity’s problems.

You see, it wasn’t always so. The world never knew real peace until our generation. Before the beginning of the current era, all of mankind’s resources were dedicated to an inhumane struggle for domination. There was no hope, as fear was civilization’s primary organizational factor. Alliances of mutual defense were created, borders were drawn, creating lines to be defended at all costs. People today cannot understand what went down in the past; very few of us are aware of the terrible price that was paid to create communities of men from cave-dwelling proto-humans. A global society that has been estranged to the world of fear can hardly fathom the “Week of Change” that marked the beginning of an era of harmony, that began with one man’s inner turmoil and ended with a decisive determination to create a better future for all mankind.

Between Sunday, the 20th of September and Saturday, the 26th, 2009, all the major actors on the world stage, including many of the bit players, were busily pursuing their only desire, the destruction of the earth for perceived self-advancement. President Obama was meeting with all the world’s leaders, trying to hammer-out a new economic order and hand the Middle East to Israel, while carving-out Africa, Central Asia and South America for the ruling cabal, when…something changed…Obama changed.

Maybe it was the deep vision of innocence he glimpsed in his daughters’ eyes, or a brief window into the potential future, into our time, the era of global harmony, but something within the man changed. I like to think that it was something that was already within him, that was there lying dormant, all along. During that fateful, wondrous week, the President of the United States of America remembered the people and the hope that had once inspired the Nation. He remembered the vision of hope that had often been shared by man and woman alike, as a Nation of simple folks struggled again and again, trying to see that the right thing was done, no matter how great the personal price and sacrifice that might be called for. He saw the great human need that screamed its own painful reality into every unhearing ear. He saw that he alone, was the key to fulfilling the need and fanning the flames of hope into a mighty transforming prairie fire of change, burning at the grass roots, feeding the flames of motivation that he had been helplessly calling for, up until then. The President of the United States took an extremely radical step and reclaimed the power of his office from the deceitful hands of the ruling class.

During the “Week of Change,” Obama was front and center, all over the world stage, fronting for the ruling empire, carrying-on with business as usual, never letting-on to the public or the corporate bosses what he had in mind, or the steps he had, in fact, already taken. Somewhere in the deepest recesses of the Pentagon, steps were taken to eliminate Israeli options for a first-strike on Iran, setting the stage for the peace pacts that soon followed, beginning with a nuclear free Middle East, as the first step to worldwide disarmament. The rogue spy agency, the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) was secretly harnessed, with all its assets impounded effectively ending the “intelligence-driven” war in Central Asia, giving oversight over the source of America’s continuing aggression to domestic intelligence (FBI). The Federal Reserve Bank was closed, with all of its assets seized, setting the stage for a global economic realignment and equitable settling of debts. With this decision, the US Government was bound by agreement to make good on all of its debts incurred while financing the global war of aggression, this included war reparations.

The world war of American aggression was immediately brought to a close, with all US forces bound by mutual agreement to serve the interests of the host governments, while an orderly withdrawal of American troops was made and all foreign bases turned-over to local authorities. The United States war machine was bound by mutual agreement to rebuild everything that it had been destroyed in its war of global conquest, effectively converting many military assets into construction and transportation equipment, “swords into plowshares.” Economic reparations extended to America’s racial wars, as well, providing massive economic stimulus to its black minority and several Western states to the remnant of the Native American Indian population.

Of course the repercussions for President Obama were many and they were severe, with multiple assassination attempts made upon himself and his family being the most immediate blowback for his bold moves, as well as the unforgettable attempted military coup which took place the following week and several smaller coup attempts in the ensuing months. Were it not for selective loyal government agents that Obama had grown close to in his journey to the Oval Office, and the millions of patriotic loyal Americans who flooded the streets and surrounded the White House at first word of the first attempt on the President’s life, we might not know the blissful existence that all of us now share. Were it not for the few, in support of the brave one, life as we know it would be over. The lucky few who survived the devastation that the ruling elite had planned would not even know what real hope was, any longer. What was potentially one of the darkest days in humanity’s history was converted into an everlasting light. Like flipping a switch, human potential came forth from the darkness that imprisoned it, into the light. Once freed, the good heart of mankind radiates outward, in all directions, filling the void of meaninglessness, pushing-back even further the edges of the stifling darkness that once imprisoned our souls.

Whatever explains it all, I thank God for it everyday, at regular intervals. The more I read from the remaining texts of that dreadful era, the more thankful I become. My research into the events that brought us to this point help me to understand the man behind the myth and the myth behind the man. The more I learn about Barack Obama, the more I realize that he is just a man, a man a lot like myself. He was not compelled to take the bold steps that he did, on the contrary, all the forces in his life, the really powerful ones that elevated him to his high position of service, were all pushing him onto an opposite path, to continue humanity’s destructive course. But there was a Higher Force behind it all, evincing a pattern of hope and opportunity for all, that, until then, could only be glimpsed, but never clearly seen. Lucky for us all, this one man turned-out to have a deeper desire to see through the matrix of despair, to catch sight of something much more.

Thanks to the concern of a single man, humankind, in fact, all the earth’s creatures, evolved just a little bit. Maybe I am reading too much into all of this.

Maybe its all just one man’s dream.

NYC international drug ring behind swine flu? supposed "shocking proof" in legal affadavits

sounds a little too good to be true but maybe - ed.

Consumer health expert Dr Leonard Horowitz and journalist Sherri Kane have uncovered evidence that David Rockefeller and Larry Silverstein are working together on a depopulation agenda by means of the use of pandemic flus and toxic vaccines

Silverstein is currently landlord and co-partner in the biotechnology trust founded by David Rockefeller, which Horrowitz and Kane alleging is a key body coordinating the activities of other groups belonging to a crime ring that are pushing forward mass forced vaccination for profit.

The Rockefellers, like the Rothschilds, are key funders of the WHO and UN, bodies that are set to take charge of nation states' governments in the event of a pandemic emergency level 6 such as the one declared by WHO on June 11th.

WHO supplied Baxter with the live bird flu virus that Baxter's subsidiary in Austria then used to contaminate and distribute 72 kilos of vacicne material, almost sparking a global pandemic emergency 6 in February.

lightning bolt alert: sibel edmonds. Will Anyone Notice?

American Conservative piece by Sibel Edmonds and Philip Giraldi

Sibel Edmonds has a story to tell. She went to work as a Turkish and Farsi translator for the FBI five days after 9/11. Part of her job was to translate and transcribe recordings of conversations between suspected Turkish intelligence agents and their American contacts. She was fired from the FBI in April 2002 after she raised concerns that one of the translators in her section was a member of a Turkish organization that was under investigation for bribing senior government officials and members of Congress, drug trafficking, illegal weapons sales, money laundering, and nuclear proliferation. She appealed her termination, but was more alarmed that no effort was being made to address the corruption that she had been monitoring.

A Department of Justice inspector general’s report called Edmonds’s allegations “credible,” “serious,” and “warrant[ing] a thorough and careful review by the FBI.” Ranking Senate Judiciary Committee members Pat Leahy (D-Vt.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) have backed her publicly. “60 Minutes” launched an investigation of her claims and found them believable. No one has ever disproved any of Edmonds’s revelations, which she says can be verified by FBI investigative files.

On Friday, we reported on the coming exclusive American Conservative cover story interview with formerly-gagged FBI translator turned whistleblower Sibel Edmonds by quoting the magazine's own teaser description of the piece as "explosive." Over the weekend, we received an embargoed look at the final version of the AmCon interview by former CIA officer Phil Giraldi, and yes, "explosive" may be a vast understatement. At least if the U.S. corporate media bother to notice it this time.

It seems it may be difficult not to notice it, given that Edmonds finally names, on the record, for the first time, in a right-leaning periodical founded by Pat Buchanan, the identity of the currently-serving Democratic Congresswoman she has previously described as married with grown children and having been "hooked" into participating in a lesbian affair with a Turkish foreign agent, as she was secretly video-taped for blackmail purposes.

Jane Burgermeister interview

it was always coming to this

by David Icke

I have known throughout the years that I have been warning about the global fascist agenda that what we are about to see was inevitable.

It was obvious that, despite the awakening of so many in the last decade, most people would need to see, touch, smell, hear and taste the fascism before they even began to accept that it was real.

This mass-reluctance to see the signs and act upon them was always going to condemn the population to some levels of the Orwellian control-system before it is eventually dismantled. I stress that it will be dismantled, but not before it has gone a lot further yet.

The question was never whether we would avoid the police/military state. I never had any illusions about that. The question was, and is, how deeply we will allow ourselves to be controlled by this evil and that can be answered by two other questions:

When are enough people going to give their total focus to bringing it to an end and when are the gofer administrators, dark suits and uniforms going to break ranks for the sake of their own families as well as the rest of us?
Well, we're about to find out.

israeli officials insist medvedev 'misunderstood' shimon peres

Ooh, rich. classic. Shimon Peres tells Medevedev, "Israel is not going to make any strikes on Iran, we are a peaceful country."

And Medvedev passed the information along. Good for him. Now Israel has a problem because of course, it is *not* a peaceful country as everyone knows, and it *does* want to strike Iran as everyone knows, and it's very inconvenient that this little diplomatic lie to Medvedev got exposed so it must be Dmitry's fault, right? He 'misunderstood.' Right. - ed.

Several high profile Israeli officials publicly castigated Russian President Dmitry Medvedev today for the later’s interview on CNN’s GPS with Fareed Zakaria in which President Medvedev claimed to have received assurances from Israeli President Shimon Peres that his nation would not attack Iran.

Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon hit out at the comments, saying President Medvedev “is certainly not authorized to speak for us, and there is no change whatsoever in Israel’s policy.” Ayalon added that Medvedev must have “misunderstood” what Peres said.

Israel has been threatening to attack Iran for years over its civilian nuclear program, and its officials have repeatedly compared Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad unfavorably with Adolf Hitler. Medvedev claimed Peres had assured him that Israel was “a peaceful country” and would never think of attacking Iran.

Israeli military chief Lt. General Gabi Ashkenazi also chimed in today, insisting that Iran with nuclear technology was a threat to the entire planet and insisting that the nation had not abandoned the idea of attacking Iran at some point in the near future.

We are not being told that Iran already has a global strategic weapons program that can kill hundreds of millions in North America, Western Europe, and Israel. This program is an Advanced BioWar program with recombination DNA (genetically engineered) unstoppable killer viruses. If this were more widely known, it would be a great casus pax, a reason for peace, as war between enemies both having weapons of mass destruction (WMD) is insane. Hence the aptly named "MAD", for mutually assured destruction, where both sides can cause truly massive fatalities on their enemy in the event of a all out war.

zbig: "we are not exactly impotent little babies"

excerpt:

There are some pundits who believe that by abandoning the missile-defense program, we will gain the help of Russia when it comes to arm-twisting Iran over its nuclear weapons program. Anything to that?

I doubt it. The Russians have their own interests in Iran, which are far more complex than the simplistic notion that the Russians want to help us with Iran. The Russians have a complicated agenda with Iran. They also know in the back of their heads that if worse came to worse—and I am not saying they are deliberately promoting the worst—but if worse came to worse, which is an American-Iranian military collision, who would pay the highest price for that? First, America, whose success in ending the Cold War the Russians still bitterly resent. And we would also pay a high price in Iraq, Afghanistan, and massively so with regards to the price of oil. Second, who would suffer the most? The Chinese, who the Russians view as a long-range threat and of whom they are very envious, because the Chinese get much more of their oil from the Middle East than we do, and the skyrocketing price would hurt them even more than us. Third, who would then be totally dependent on the Russians? The West Europeans. And fourth, who would cash in like crazy? The Kremlin.

Is the fallout as bad if Israel preemptively strikes Iran?
Absolutely. That is the way, more importantly, how the Iranians would view it. They really can’t do much to the Israelis, despite all their bluster. The only thing they can do is unify themselves, especially nationalistically, to rally against us, and the mullahs might even think of it as a blessing.

How aggressive can Obama be in insisting to the Israelis that a military strike might be in America’s worst interest?
We are not exactly impotent little babies. They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?

What if they fly over anyway?
Well, we have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse. [Israeli jet fighters and torpedo boats attacked the USS Liberty in international waters, off the Sinai Peninsula, during the Six-Day War in 1967. Israel later claimed the ship was the object of friendly fire.]

Israel won't strike Iran - Medvedev

MOSCOW, September 20 (RIA Novosti) - Israel will not strike Iran, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said.

Medvedev said in an interview with CNN aired Sunday that Israeli President Shimon Peres, when on a visit to the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi in August to discuss Russia's arms deals with Iran, told him: "Israel is not going to make any strikes on Iran, we are a peaceful country." [o_O]

Medvedev said Russia supplies purely defensive armaments to Iran. "Our task is not to strengthen Iran and weaken Israel or vice versa, but [to establish] a normal, quiet situation in the Middle East," he said.

Asked what could happen should Israel nevertheless make a strike, Medvedev said: "This is the worst thing that could be imagined... This would be the most unwise development of events. But my Israeli colleagues told me they are not going to act like this, and I trust them."
