The Big Escalation: Pirate ships converge on US hostage at sea

Pay attention. This is not for nothing, I'm sure. Note the 'human shields,' Gen. Petreaus, Navy SEALS, FBI, AG Holder, etc. - Ed.

NAIROBI, Kenya – Escalating a dramatic Indian Ocean standoff, more U.S. warships — as well as pirate reinforcements with an international gallery of hostages — rushed Friday toward the spot where four Somali bandits are holding a U.S. sea captain aboard a drifting lifeboat.

US Navy physicist warns of possibly 'several decades of crushing cold temps and global famine'

"The sun has gone very quiet as it transitions to Solar Cycle 24.

"Since the current transition now exceeds 568 spotless days, it is becoming clear that sun has undergone a state change. It is now evident that the Grand Maxima state that has persisted during most of the 20th century has come to an abrupt end.

"(The sun) might (1) revert to the old solar cycles or (2) the sun might go even quieter into a "Dalton Minimum" or a Grand Minima such as the "Maunder Minimum". It is still a little early to predict which way it will swing. Each of these two possibilities holds a great threat to our nation.

"We are now at a crossroad. Two paths lie before us. Both are marked with a signpost that reads "Danger"! Down one path lies monstrous solar storms. Down the other path lies several decades of crushing cold temperatures and global famine."

Brain Researchers open door to editing memory

With a DRUG. This is in the NY Times. Notice how it's all presented as a GOOD THING. Yeah, sure. It will only be used for good, we can be sure of that hmm? Like, nobody can imagine them sticking this molecule into the bird flu vaccine that they'll force everyone to take, or some other 'required' shot in the next manufactured 'emergency.' And then people will be walking around forgetting what the Constitution ever meant, or freedom, or who knows what diabolical things they would do to us. No wonder they are glomming all over this area of research. Plenty of money to throw at this. Brings a whole new meaning to fucking with your head. - Ed.

Suppose scientists could erase certain memories by tinkering with a single substance in the brain. Could make you forget a chronic fear, a traumatic loss, even a bad habit. [or whatever they would like you to forget]

Researchers in Brooklyn have recently accomplished comparable feats, with a single dose of an experimental drug delivered to areas of the brain critical for holding specific types of memory, like emotional associations, spatial knowledge or motor skills.

The drug blocks the activity of a substance that the brain apparently needs to retain much of its learned information. And if enhanced, the substance could help ward off dementias and other memory problems. [and people resisting the NWO]

So far, the research has been done only on animals. But scientists say this memory system is likely to work almost identically in people.

The discovery of such an apparently critical memory molecule, and its many potential uses, are part of the buzz surrounding a field that, in just the past few years, has made the seemingly impossible suddenly probable: neuroscience, the study of the brain.

“If this molecule is as important as it appears to be, you can see the possible implications,” said Dr. Todd C. Sacktor, a 52-year-old neuroscientist who leads the team at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center, in Brooklyn, which demonstrated its effect on memory. “For trauma. For addiction, which is a learned behavior. Ultimately for improving memory and learning.”

Uh huh. Yes we can see the possible implications. Read more @ Pimpin Turtle

World's hopes dashed as the reality of Obama's foreign policy slowly exposes itself

As the end of the Bush Presidency finally drew into sight in the run up to the 2008 US Presidential election, the entire world – not just the American people – but the entire world pinned their hopes on a Barack Obama win, a win that would at last bring some peace to a world turned upside down by Bush and his Zionist-inspired neocon administration.

Now, it seems, those hopes have been dashed.

Obama's New World Order

by Steve Lendman

This article addresses Washington's financial coup d'etat in the context of discussing Michael Hudson's important, very lengthy and detailed April 5 Global Research.ca one titled: "The Financial War Against Iceland - Being defeated by debt is as deadly as outright military warfare." It reviews its key information in advance of Hudson's April 14 scheduled appearance on The Global Research News Hour to discuss.

What's true for Iceland holds everywhere, including the developed world, the idea being to enrich finance capitalism through state-sponsored debt bondage and neo-feudal impoverishment. The global economic crisis was no accident. It was long ago hatched, and has been brewing for years, gestating, percolating, then bubbling into the 2000 tech crash, a mere prelude for today's greater one spreading everywhere like a cancer but hitting the developing world and most indebted nations hardest.

Fiber optic cables cut in California

Smells like Psyops, preparing us for the 'necessity' of having the government shut down or control the internet in the interest of 'national security.' Mmm hmm. Check out the excessive drama of the victims here, who had to actually make decisions for themselves and solve some problems. Are we so fragile in this country? Lame. Is this what passes for tragedy -- oh sorry, it was only "NEARLY TRAGIC." My mistake. A kidney infection? An elderly woman feeling ill? Hospital staff being forced to resort to walkie-talkies and satellite phones? People being forced to drive themselves to hospitals? Oh yes, it's like the STONE AGE. I'm sure the people we've actually bombed into the stone age in Afghanistan and Iraq would agree. Mm hmm. And notice also how the suspicion is cast on the union workers. Naturally. We'll see. We'll see if they find the culprits. My hunch is they never will because it's an intel operation designed to create a Hegelian problem, soften up the public, and nourish the idea that Something Must Be Done, or in other words, get them clamoring for a Hegelian solution. These intel ops tend to stand out for the overwraught emotional content, as if written by someone suffering from histrionic personality disorder. - Ed.

Vandals cut fiber-optic cable lines belonging to AT&T at two locations early today, knocking out phones and access to 911 emergency services to thousands of residential customers and businesses in southern Santa Clara County, in Santa Cruz and San Benito counties and along the Peninsula, authorities said.

Four AT&T fiber-optic cables in an underground vault were severed shortly before 1:30 a.m. along Monterey Highway north of Blossom Hill Road in south San Jose, police Sgt. Ronnie Lopez said. Four more underground cables, at least two of which belong to AT&T, were cut about two hours later along Old County Road near Bing Street in San Carlos, authorities said.

[snip]

The outage was nearly tragic in at least a couple of instances.

Destiny Evans of Gilroy began blacking out this morning at her job as an office manager at Ortho Sports in Gilroy. Her boss, Joseph Abmont, called 911 on a landline and cell phone, but couldn’t get through.

So he put Evans in his car and drove her to St. Louise Hospital in Gilroy, where she was diagnosed with a kidney infection.

“He was my savior,” Evans said as she left the hospital later in the day with her boyfriend.

Florance Lijon of Gilroy was at home when her 84-year-old mother began to feel ill. She tried to call 911 to summon an ambulance. “I couldn’t call nowhere,” Lijon said. “I couldn’t use my home phone, I couldn’t use my cell phone, I couldn’t use my computer. I was miserable.”

Finally she drove her mom to the hospital.

“I worry about people that don’t have a car,” Lijon said. “It’s a good thing I could take her. I was going to call the ambulance, but I couldn’t.”

St. Louise spokeswoman Jasmine Nguyen said the hospital was rescheduling elective surgeries out of concern that if something went wrong, would be no way to contact doctors.

Hospital personnel were driving to doctors’ houses to get word to them if they were needed. They were also using a satellite phone and walkie-talkies to communicate.

“We literally feel like were on an island right now,” Nguyen said. “It’s bringing us back to the Stone Age.”

Who is more guilty of monumental crimes -- the prime movers or trigger pullers?

Excerpt:

The text below from a previous run on the same treadmill does not change in its substance even if the word “Impeachment” is replaced by Mr. Vincent Bugliosi's more daringly accurate charge of “Murder”. But it might be worthwhile to also non-Polyanishly recall that “All murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets”. This is how President George W. Bush murdered. It is also the basis upon which his successor President Obama is being the judge-jury-executioner even as we speak, by authorizing the drone attacks on Pakistan which is killing innocent men women and children whose only crime is to be in the path of “imperial mobilization” enroute to one-world government, and by aiding and abetting Israel in its Shoah of the Palestinians from his very first day in office. But President Obama's agenda goes much farther – if only one is willing to not remain blinded to the proclivities of his handlers, none of which is particularly a state-secret. Are all of these manifest monumental crimes of the President's own orchestration, or are they according to a long-held pre-planned agenda of the oligarchs who whet and install presidents, and who replace them with a new face whenever it suits them? Besides, only the victors have ever succeeded in administering 'justice', and only a 'victor's justice' at that, to all such murderers – who are otherwise, always, 'aptly' celebrated as 'Emperors', and 'The Great'!

aangirfan: Not Secret

On 8 March 2009, the media published photographs of a top UK anti-terrorism policeman, Bob Quick, as he was heading to a meeting at 10 Downing Street.

Quick appears to be deliberately, or accidentally, showing off a document labeled "Secret".

The document reportedly suggests to us that there really are Pakistani al Qaeda 'terrorists' out there.

After the publication of these photos, the police allegedly felt they had to make immediate arrests of the Pakistanis they had been watching. The arrest operation was brought forward 12 hours.

Reportedly, the USA and its allies want to break up Pakistan. It is important for the public to be brainwashed into seeing Pakistanis as being bad, dangerous people.

'Will you open fire on UK citizens?' army personnel being asked

In a stunning conversation with a friend, who is a serving member of the Armed Forces, over the weekend, it was revealed that transfers to regiments and other units in the UK on home duties are being undertaken by the MOD based upon whether an individual was prepared to 'open fire' on UK citizens during civil disturbances.

I found this long and extracted conversation to be both bizarre and frightening. I will state at this point that he is someone that I have known for years, and trust implicitly. The fact that service personnel are actually being asked in special briefing sessions whether they would fire on their own nationals indicates that the rumours about the Army being put on standby are indeed very true.

When belief in the system fades

The entire Survival+ analysis centers on trying to understand the multilayered ways the middle class is being squeezed to exhaustion / insolvency. My good friend G.F.B. (also a small business owner, as you could have guessed) likened the tax and fee-for-services (or whatever we deem a service, like you operating a business in our jurisdiction) system to a parasite and host. The parasite is careful not to extract too much, lest the host die.

But sometimes parasites become so numerous and greedy that they end up killing the host and thus themselves. Perhaps the single key task of the Plutocracy/State (two sides of a single coin) is to convince the host (the middle class) to keep laboring despite the ever-increasing extraction of their earnings and wealth.

The task requires an actively supported mythology (you too can be Bill Gates!) and a subtle cultivation of interlocking beliefs in the fairness and rightness of the system. The overriding faith that hard work and individual greed will both be rewarded as long as the middle class believer "keeps his nose clean," i.e. plays along with the set rules, is carefully nourished.

Netanyahu to the West: Destroy Iran before Israel destroys you

In early February 2009, a mere few days before the elections in Israel that delivered into Benjamin Netanyahu’s hands the launch codes to several hundred nuclear weapons aimed at every major capital in the Western world, former U.S. Middle East negotiator Aaron David Miller predicted that upon assuming the seat of power Netanyahu’s first priority would be “strategic conversation” with America’s new president, Barack Obama. Miller further predicted that the aim of this “very serious” conversation would be to “scare the daylights out of the president”, the ultimate objective of which would be mobilizing–not only the United States, but indeed the entire “international community”–into addressing the Iranian situation in a manner deemed “acceptable” to the Jewish state and her agenda.

Plan to curb internet privacy advances in France

Filed under the category of "Global Business" at the NYT. Protecting the interests of the music and film industry. Hmm. I wonder what companies they will hire to analyze the data. Perhaps some Israeli companies? That seems likely to me. Because after all, it's wrong to steal kids. I mean, it's ok for big corporations and big banks and the government to steal from US, but it's totally unacceptable for anyone to steal from them. And if you ALL have to give up your privacy to keep them whole, so be it. Right? Coming soon to a country near you. - Ed.

French lawmakers are poised to approve a law to create the world’s first surveillance system for Internet piracy, one that would force Internet service providers in some cases to disconnect customers accused of making illegal downloads.

The proposal, called the “Création et Internet” and known informally as the “three strikes” directive, has won preliminary votes by the Parliament and is expected to be approved in both houses Thursday. It has support from the governing party of President Nicolas Sarkozy.

The law empowers music and film industry associations to hire companies to analyze the downloads of individual users to detect piracy, and to report violations to a new agency overseeing copyright protection. The agency would be authorized to trace the illegal downloads back to individuals using the downloading computer’s unique identification number, known as its Internet Protocol, or IP, address, which the Internet service providers have on record.

ACLU calls for internal DHS investigations on Fusion Centers

After testifying last week before the same committee – the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Intelligence, Information Sharing, and Terrorism Risk Assessment – the ACLU sent five letters to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties urging investigations into five troubling incidents, several of which have stemmed from DHS-funded fusion centers.
“Fusion centers have experienced a mission creep in the last several years, becoming more of a threat than a security device. With no overarching guidelines to restrict or direct them, these centers put Americans’ privacy at huge risk,” said Caroline Fredrickson, Director of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office. “We need our government to take a long, hard look at what’s going into these centers and, frankly, what’s coming out.”

Another Country Heard From

By Amir Oren, the defense correspondent for Haaretz, reprinted in full because it could go down the memory hole at any time. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1077227.html

Barack Hussein Obama is the one who highlighted his middle name. In a speech in Strasbourg, he did not wait for the Passover holiday to hold a "seder." Not just one seder (which means "order" in Hebrew) but a series of seders. There is the order of the day and a world order.

Within 10 days he revealed his plan for Afghanistan and its problematic neighbor, Pakistan; stopped by London to deal with the economic crisis that has rocked global financial institutions; trekked out to the French-German border to give a shot of adrenaline to the NATO alliance; laid out his vision for a nuclear weapon-free globe in Prague; spoke of relations between Islam and the West in Turkey; and, for dessert, reminded Benjamin Netanyahu who is king of the (white) house. Not bad for a week and a half.

The end result is that Israel's chances of gaining American understanding for an operation against Iran increased, while Netanyahu's chances of gaining American understanding for his sleights of hand and the suspension of the diplomatic process with the Palestinians have whittled down to zero. Obama will not reconcile with nuclear weapons in Iran, nor will he come to terms with Israeli obstinacy.

Obama is working within three circles - domestic, Western and global. He is first trying to muster support at home, then among NATO, which is another way of saying "the West," and finally around the world, including from powers (Russia, China) who have no interest in aiding American global leadership.

He prefers to act from a general consensus. He will make do with Western support, and he would be pained to follow a policy of American unilateralism, even if every other country protests.

As if to remove any doubt, Obama responded to a British journalist's provocative line of questioning in Strasbourg with polished pride in his belief of the uniqueness of America. Whoever hoped or feared that the new president would reveal himself to be a completely different kind of American leader, soft and apologetic, came away disappointed.

It does not matter what qualities his devotees imagined he possessed. The job, in this case as well, is larger than the man, and Obama's presidency is just one link in the long chain of an effort to cope with a grim reality, one which has no smooth passageways from black to white, or vice versa. It is now clear that Obama is not George Bush's opposite.

From the Israeli standpoint, the most essential strategic development is the shift of American interest eastward from Iraq, which took center stage during the Bush years. The focus is moving to Iran, Afghanistan and North Korea. The significance is that the attention devoted to existential threats of terrorism and nuclear weapons intensifies exactly as it did during the Bush presidency, yet it is disconnected from the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Concessions on the Israeli front will not aid in the fight against Al Qaida and the Taliban, nor will they dissuade Kim Jong-il from launching missiles that can carry nuclear warheads.

Like Bush following the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, Obama finds himself compelled to declare that Islam is not the enemy of America. Here, his "Hussein" and his father's ethnicity help him, but the simplistic truth transmitted to his audience is that Islam is indeed the enemy.

Not all Muslims are bad, but all the bad guys are Muslims, with the exception of North Korea. A world order that is founded upon nations and multinational cooperation frameworks cannot become enslaved by religious fanaticism that will foment perpetual war, leading to the deaths of millions of civilians via the spread of nuclear weapons to unfettered regimes and organizations that have vowed to liberate holy land by killing infidels.

It is convenient for Israel that Obama's immediate nuclear challenge comes from North Korea, because the rules of conduct that Obama will lay down for states that eschew their obligations in this context will also apply to Iran. Conversations with U.S. civilian and military officials suggest that in recent weeks there has been greater recognition among members of the Obama administration that the danger of a nuclear Iran to the entire Middle East and, together with North Korea, to the spread of nuclear weapons around the world, is greater than the anticipated cost of an Israeli operation against Iran.

The Pentagon and Obama's National Security Council have become increasingly convinced of this following talks with Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi in Washington and Strasbourg. In a time of change in the political leadership and stability in the senior military command, the American defense establishment views Ashkenazi as highly credible, and as someone who takes a professional approach. His assessments on the gravity of the threat as well as the capability to confront it have already been echoed by the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Michael Mullen, in his briefings with the press.

But only an Israeli government that seeks peace can convince the public that its order to the IDF to act was given free from ulterior motives. If Netanyahu's natural partner is Avigdor Lieberman, Obama is indicating that his natural partner is Tzipi Livni.

Very soon, in Netanyahu's visit to Washington and Obama's visit to Jerusalem, either a change will be imposed on Israeli policy, or a change will be imposed on the Israeli government.

Obama team readying for clash with Netanyahu, Lieberman

08/04/2009 In an unprecedented move, the Obama administration is readying for a possible confrontation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by briefing Democratic congressmen on the “peace process” and the positions of the new government in Israel regarding a two-state solution.

(CNN)
-- Pirates near Somalia's coastline attacked a cargo ship Wednesday with a crew of at least 20 U.S. nationals, according to the company that owns the vessel. It is believed that the U.S.-flagged Maersk Alabama was subsequently hijacked, according to a statement from Maersk Line Ltd. If so, it would be the sixth hijacking over the past week.

"There is a task force present in the region to deter any type of piracy, but the challenge remains that the area is so big and it is hard to monitor all the time," he said. "The area we patrol is over a million square miles. We can't be everywhere at once."

He said U.S.-flagged ships are not normally escorted by the military, unless they request it from the U.S. Navy.

Recent attacks off the coast of Somalia, which have taken place south of the area patrolled by U.S. and coalition ships, shows pirates are changing their tactics and taking advantage of tens of thousands of square miles of open water where fewer military ships patrol, according to U.S. military officials.

"They [pirates] are going where we are not, they are looking for targets where there is limited coalition presence," according to a U.S. military briefing document shown to CNN.

An open lettter to Congress: Help Me or I Will Die

by Donna Smith

Washington DC - Representative Eric Massa of New York said this week that in the 86 days since he took office, he has received many letters from his constituents. Some are general letters supporting him or proposed legislation; some letters express disagreement with some of what Congress is working on. Other letters begin with the phrase, "Help me, or I might lose my house," Massa said. But at least once every other day, Congressman Massa reads the words, "Help me or I will die," as a constituent from his great state falls through the gaping holes in the healthcare system we have today.

Thirty-five letters in 86 days.

The Two Faces of Barack Obama

by Justin Raimondo

The news from Europe, if you listen to our infatuated media, is that the Euros love President Obama: according to the American reportage, his recent trip there was a cavalcade of photo-ops, cheering crowds, and hugs from the queen of England. Even the French were in awe of him! However, if you look beneath the surface, not that far beneath the gloss and the glam there runs a current of irritation, and, dare I say it, resentment.

Israeli anti-Hamas fearmongering propaganda gets increasingly desparate

by Damian Lataan

There was an article in the today’s ‘Jerusalem Post’ that said that ‘Hamas wants to smuggle long-range rockets into the Gaza in one piece’.

This is Israeli propaganda that is getting very desperate – and one has to wonder why.

Magic Thermite and the 911 Fairytale

Well… there it is in black and white and irrefutable; all three colors complementing truth. This won’t make much difference to those who have gone to such great lengths to deny the truth in the first place. The first place they deny the truth is within themselves and then they are kind enough to extend that courtesy to everyone else; lucky us.

Israel's death culture, a dragging anchor

‘America must cut loose the anchor and let Israel sink to its natural level’

By Charles E. Carlson

Israel Defense Forces trains snipers to kill, but who are they trained to target? Many of us had military training at one time or another and the thought of killing a human is something soldiers must be prepared for. But based on the result, something about Israel’s sniper training must be very different, for the thought of killing a woman, much less a child, never entered the mind of any soldier I have ever known.

Some straight forward questions for Steve Jones on the subject of his research

by Scott Creighton

Nearly one year ago, in May of 2008, I made a mistake; a mistake that I will correct at this time.

On May 25th of 2008 I wrote… An Open Letter to Steven E. Jones, Jeffrey Farrer, Gregory S. Jenkins, Frank Legge, James Gourley, Kevin Ryan, Daniel Farnsworth, and Crockett Grabbe On the Subject of Detonator Cord.

The letter deals primarily with the possibility that detonator cord which consists of the high-explosive PETN, was used to pulverize the concrete floor systems in the Twin Towers and that the iron-rich spheres that Jones had discovered in the Ground Zero dust may in part be the missing trusses from those very floor systems.

Darkness Renewed: Terror as a Tool of Empire

by Chris Floyd

Here’s a purely hypothetical scenario. Let’s say you were a dedicated imperial militarist who believed that your country’s security, prestige and financial interests could best be served by war and the ever-present threat of war. Let’s say you had some really hot and juicy operations going on, endless deadly conflicts that were pouring hundreds of billions of dollars into your war machine and entrenching national policy even more deeply in the militarist philosophy – the machtpolitik – that you believe in.

Never in the field of human history has so much been taken from so many by so few

The last week in March started with the coordinated call from Russia and China for a new non-national reserve currency, an idea that was greeted as one would expect with some derision until US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said he supported such an idea. We can only speculate that he forgot his role in this Act 2 of the international stage tragedy "Global Financial Crisis" and used his lines from Act 4 which has of course yet to come. In this Act the role of the US is to resist such calls.

Bill Moyers with William K. Black

BILL MOYERS: Is it possible that these complex instruments were deliberately created so swindlers could exploit them?

WILLIAM K. BLACK: Oh, absolutely. This stuff, the exotic stuff that you’re talking about was created out of things like liars’ loans, that were known to be extraordinarily bad. And now it was getting triple-A ratings. Now a triple-A rating is supposed to mean there is zero credit risk. So you take something that not only has significant, it has crushing risk. That’s why it’s toxic. And you create this fiction that it has zero risk. That itself, of course, is a fraudulent exercise. And again, there was nobody looking, during the Bush years. So finally, only a year ago, we started to have a Congressional investigation of some of these rating agencies, and it’s scandalous what came out. What we know now is that the rating agencies never looked at a single loan file. When they finally did look, after the markets had completely collapsed, they found, and I’m quoting Fitch, the smallest of the rating agencies, “the results were disconcerting, in that there was the appearance of fraud in nearly every file we examined.”

London cops reach new heights of anti-terror poster stupidity

The London police have bested their own impressive record for insane and stupid anti-terrorism posters with a new range of signs advising Londoners to go through each others' trash-bins looking for "suspicious" chemical bottles, and to report on one another for "studying CCTV cameras."

It's hard to imagine a worse, more socially corrosive campaign. Telling people to rummage in one another's trash and report on anything they don't understand is a recipe for flooding the police with bad reports from ignorant people who end up bringing down anti-terror cops on their neighbors who keep tropical fish, paint in oils, are amateur chemists, or who just do something outside of the narrow experience of the least adventurous person on their street. Essentially, this redefines "suspicious" as anything outside of the direct experience of the most frightened, ignorant and foolish people in any neighborhood.

Calls for public inquiry into police brutality at G20 summit

Organisers and groups involved in the protest against the G20 summit in London have called for an independent public inquiry into the brutal policing of the demonstrations last week, following the death of a man on his way home from work on the evening of April 1.

Ian Tomlinson, a resident of the City of London, was on his way home from the newsagent where he worked when he was caught up in the police cordon surrounding protesters at the Bank of England. His death is being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

Geithner *may* (or may not!) oust executives at banks needing 'exceptional' aid

April 6 (Bloomberg) -- Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said he’s prepared to oust executives and directors at banks that require “exceptional” assistance from the U.S. government.

“If in the future, banks need exceptional assistance in order to get through this, then we will make sure that assistance comes,” while ensuring taxpayers are protected, Geithner said yesterday in an interview on the CBS “Face the Nation” program. “Where that requires a change in management and the board, then we will do that.”

I’ve been saying for a long time that aircraft carriers are just history’s most expensive floating targets, and that they were doomed.

American Goy: Tony Blair, the (paid) Zionist, and Sarkozy, the real thing

Excerpt:

You see, Tony Blair, the neocon in the disguise of a Labour party apparatchik ("New Labour - it is not new, and it s not labour"), is doing what any good servant of the power that be does - he has a second career, a very, very well paid career, paid for by the people whose bidding he did while in office (for example, for bringing British soldiers' blood to further Israeli security goals).

He is a so called "peace envoy", supposedly trying to bring peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

He does most of his work from a luxury hotel - in fact, he never leaves the place (Why should he? It's not like he has a real job or anything).

And just to keep himself impartial, Tony Blair, has had no qualms accepting a 1 million dollar prize from Israel - while he tries to mediate between Israel and Palestine.

No hypocrisy there, no conflict of interest present... right?
