KABUL: Schoolchildren in single file walked past a military checkpoint as a bomb-loaded truck veered towards them and exploded, killing 14 young Afghans in a heartbreaking flash captured by a US military security camera.
The video shot on Sunday shows a four-wheel-drive slowly weaving through sandbag barriers at a military checkpoint in the eastern province of Khost, just as a line of schoolchildren comes into view.
The vehicle moves towards the security camera, while the children walk in the opposite direction, nearly passing the car when the footage ends in a fiery blast.
