Reminiscent of the war crimes of the Wehrmacht, there have been reports of civilians being rounded up, collected together, and then killed, in areas occupied by the IDF. This is a confirmed report on just one such incident, perhaps the most deadly so far known, of the deliberate butchering of 70 civilians and later Israeli troops shooting at those who tried to rescue the survivors during the brief cease fire, so that at least some wounded had to be left to die. The BBC and New York Times are now reporting on additional war crimes in Zeitoun, this time confirmed by the International Red Cross.
