Iran has signed the NPT. As a signatory to the NPT, Iran may rightfully, legally, use nuclear technology for peaceful energy purposes. Iran has submitted to and passed repeated IAEA inspections. The US intelligence community (NIE) does not consider Iran a nuclear threat. Israel refuses to sign the NPT. Israel has an estimated several hundred undeclared nuclear weapons. Russia and China have warned that an attack on Iran will have global consequences. That's the situation in a nutshell. Where to next, people? Where to?

It has become a commonplace that New York's Legislature is the worst in the country. Evidence emerges daily of how low and irresponsible the capital is. We offer fresh examples.
Exhibit No. 1 validating the Legislature's title as America's worst: the gross excesses committed by the Senate's former Republican majority.
Inspecting the Senate's $100 million budget, newly empowered Democrats have uncovered the details of how former GOP leader Joe Bruno and his crew operated the chamber as a taxpayer-financed clubhouse.
Shamed out of using state helicopters for political travel, Bruno treated himself to a $50,000 van with leather-upholstered captain chairs.
His Republicans operated a $3 million-a-year print shop with 60 employees who cranked out four-color promotional publications for Republicans and one-color flyers for Dems.
The GOP also had a TV studio where only Republicans could record propaganda for cable broadcast at public expense. They also operated a $2 million "research service" that worked hand-in-glove with the GOP campaign team.
