Israel says 'does not intend to bomb Iran'

MOSCOW - Israel "does not intend to bomb" Iran, extremist Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Wednesday, amid ongoing tensions over the contested Iranian nuclear programme.

"We are not intending to bomb Iran," Lieberman told reporters in Moscow. "It is not a problem for Israel, it is a problem for the Middle East."

"No-one is going to get their problems solved through our hands. We do not have claims on Iranian territory, we do not have a common border with Iran," the radical FM added.

Israeli officials over the last years have refused to rule out the option of a military strike on Iran.
