Consider when reading this that William Degan, the US Marshal that died at Ruby Ridge and was the onus for the federal response that included snipers, and armored vehicles, resulting in the deaths of Randy Weaver's dogs, son and wife, was also accidentally shot by a fellow agent in a skirmish initiated by the US Marshal service. Rather than admit that his fellow agent accidentally killed him, the US marshals launched an assault on a US Citizen and murdered his 12 year old son, whom they shot in the back as he was running away, and Weaver's wife, while she held their infant daughter in her arms.
