1. Erdogan says slow down

TEHRAN (FNA)- Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan slammed the newly approved resolution on Iran by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors, saying that was a "very rushed" process.

...However, shortly after his meeting with Obama the Turkish Prime Minister once again refused to support any sanctions against Iran, saying those sanctions would be ineffective. Erdogan said Turkey wants to see a diplomatic solution to Tehran's nuclear standoff with the West. The Turkish Prime Minister also offered to mediate in negotiations between Tehran and the West.

2. what has Obama got against the F22?

The first leg of United States President Barack Obama's recent trip to Asia took him to Alaska, where he gave a brief speech to US military personnel. From there, US Air Force One made the long flight flight to Tokyo. There was not much media coverage of Obama's stop in Alaska.

However, more than two weeks later, and long after Obama arrived back home from Asia, Josh Rogin, who covers all things diplomatic as blogger extraordinaire at Foreign Policy's "The Cable", wrote that something most peculiar had taken place in Alaska. [1]

What Rogin revealed is that just prior to Obama's speech at Elmendorf air force base, Obama's White House aides switched planes.

No, we are not talking about Air Force One, but the plane whichwas positioned inside the hangar to serve as a prop when Obama gave his speech. US Air Force (USAF) personnel and others at Elmendorf had proudly placed a new F-22 fighter jet for everyone to see, including Obama. However, after Obama's aides saw it, they immediately ordered a change of plane prior to Obama's arrival - out with the F-22, in with the F-15.

4. Tymoshenko accuses central tv channels of manipulating people's consciousness in favor of oligarchs

The central Ukrainian TV channels are manipulating the consciousness of citizens in favor of financial and oligarchic groups, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has said.

"The complete manipulation of people's consciousness is being conducted. All central television channels currently belong to oligarchs – remember this. None of the channels reflect politics that correspond to the real situation in the country," Tymoshenko said at a ceremony dedicated to the day of local government in Kyiv on Monday.

According to her, "currently all the news on TV is formed at the headquarters of certain presidential candidates, who personify oligarchy and its interests.

Tymoshenko noted her appearance on a Shuster Live show on the Ukraina TV Channel, when MPs from the Regions Party appeared on the live show uninvited and tried to disrupt her appearance.

"They acknowledged that they organized this live show in the headquarters of the Regions Party. This was revealed because God wanted to unveil this shameful case, and show the whole country what kind of freedom of the press that the country currently has, and [what kind of] news that it has at present," Tymoshenko said.

5. Newsweek: oh hey chemtrails are good for the planet. we could do it quickly and cheaply. oh hey then what's that stuff you've been spraying already then? or are you already fucking with the weather? or with our health? what *are* you people doing?

There will be no climate treaty to emerge from the conference in Copenhagen this month, global leaders now concede. But there may be alternative ways to help combat global warming. Various methods of geo--engineering employ unorthodox means to cool the planet. Advocates say that some of these proposals could be implemented quickly and cheaply. One concept is known as stratospheric aerosol insertion. A primer:

How It Works
Military planes (or helium balloons) spray the stratosphere with sulfur gases, which disperse and oxidize. The particles scatter back into space some of the sunlight that would have been absorbed by the planet's surface. As more sunlight is deflected, the planet cools. It's like an artificial version of an erupting volcano.

The Bottom Line
No major technological innovation would be needed, and, according to the Council on Foreign Relations, one -kilogram of sulfur could offset the effect of several hundred thousand kilograms of carbon dioxide. Potential downsides: regional ozone depletion, shifts in weather patterns, drought.
